In addition to assist families with children attending Newton Primary School, an area of recognised material deprivation, by supplying food to families and supporting the Supper Club initiated and funded by the school.

Trustees Report

There were 9 regular meetings during 2024 and 1 Extraordinary Meeting

The normal work of the food bank continued from February 2024 until August 2024.In February Treasurer confirmed her intention of retiring from all food bank duties and by March the trustees recognised that no new trustees were coming forward from volunteers or other sources, to manage the food bank into the future and with the consent of members at an Extraordinary Meeting in June, the trustees set about the “Winding up “process of the Christ in Action Food Bank.

Deliveries to Wallacetown Hub and Dalmilling Primary Schools ceased at the end of August and by the end of September all deliveries to Hostels and The Refuge were completed. All stock of food was distributed to Wallacetown Hub and Dalmilling and Annbank Primary Schools where their Family Welfare staff member has established 2 new food banks. Remaining funds were distributed to all agencies supported by this food bank for the specific purpose of supplying food to those in crisis.

The trustees have received thanks from all agencies regarding the practical, punctual support they have received over the years and for the generous donations which will ease them over a period of change. The trustees would once again thank all volunteers and supporters for their incredible support particularly in this difficult year.

The trustees are gratefula: carrying out his duties as an independent examiner.
