'the advancement of public participation in sport'

The Fighting Chance Project (Scotland) continues to Judo, other martial arts, and related activities to help improve participants' academic, social, mental, and physical health and wellbeing outcomes. As a distributing charity, we are facilitators relying on partner judo clubs, coaches, and other organisations to deliver our programmes. The model provides the flexibility to operate within the constraints dictated by the external market and the resources available to us, allowing us to accommodate growth or contraction depending on funding and grant availability. Our school's programmes cover interventions for P6-7 primary school and high school mainstream pupils, as well as those in the Department of Additional Support (DAS) from S1-3, frequently helping individuals transition into high school. Through 'Giving Attainment a Fighting Chance', we aim to align with the Scottish Government to close the attainment gap for SEB or other ASN young people.

Objectives: The organisation?s purposes are: Fighting Chance is a non-profit distributing charity whose principal objective is the advancement of public participation in sport by the provision of coaching and facilities for participating in Judo in accordance with the rules and regulations laid down by JudoScotland and the British Judo Association (BJA), the governing bodies of the sport in Scotland and the UK.
