**Purposes:** &#x27;the advancement of education&#x27;,&#x27;the advancement of citizenship or community development&#x27;,&#x27;the advancement of the arts, heritage, culture or science&#x27;,&#x27;the provision of recreational facilities, or the organisation of recreational activities, with the object of improving the conditions of life for the persons for whom the facilities or activities are primarily intended&#x27;,&#x27;the advancement of environmental protection or improvement&#x27;

**What the charity does:** Arkaig Community Forest owns two areas of native scottish woodland for the purpose of regenerating these areas and removing non native species. A tree nursery has been developed to supply the necessary tree seedlings. A deer larder has been established to process the red deer culled off the woodland area.

**Objectives:** to support and promote sustainable community development, where &#x27;sustainable development&#x27; means development which meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs, 3.2 to manage community land and associated assets for the benefit of the community and the public in general 3.3 to restore and protect the natural environment of the area, and in particular to restore and enhance the native woodland habitats and other semi-natural habitats and associated flora and fauna of the area 3.4 to support and enhance the understanding and interpretation of the environment, history, culture and heritage of the area 3.5 to improve the access, amenity and recreational value of the area 3.6 to encourage the advancement of land-based education, training, and personal development 3.7 to promote health and wellbeing
