Provision of facilities and delivery of training and playing of football for children and young adults up to the age of 19 and also adults over the age of 35.

Summary of the main activities Approx 486 registered players and 98 SYFA registered coaches. in relation to these objects Registered teams playing in 11 age groups 2008-2018 date of birth, girls football and an over 35s team. Provision of facilities leased from Edinburgh Council principally at Dovecot Park and various Edinburgh Leisure facilities including Malleny Park Edinburgh and several schools. Fundraising activities to facilitate access for children to competitive football. Partnership with commercial and other sporting organisations including Play2Learn, George Watsons College and Heriot Watt University

Achievements and performance

Summary ofthe main achievements ofthe	1.	The club successfully negotiated partial tenure overthe newly developed
charity during the financial period		3G training and match facilities at Malleny Park Balerno in partnership
		with Currie Rugby club and Edinburgh District Council. This allows us
		primary use ofthis facility two evenings a week and at the weekend in a
		shared use agreement.
	2.	Currie Star have also now secureda long term let atthe brand new3G
		pitches at Currie High School. Thiswas completed in April 2022.
	3.	The club continues to partnerwith Play2Learn who provide early years
		training for 7-9 year olds for their firsttwo years in football playing football
		4s and 5's.
	4,	Currie StarFC formeda girl’s section in April 2022, which is continuing to
		grow year on year, currently hosting 54 players. Again, this is in
		partnership with Play2Learn who continue to coach the players and
		educate parent coaches.
	5.	A Currie Star >35’s team commenced in May 2022 to enhance the
		opportunities for all ages to participate in playing football.
	6.	The club is currently undertaking reaccreditation for theirSFA Community
		Award which is benchmarked around successful completion ofPVG /
		Administration and procedures / First Aid and appropriate Coaching
		qualifications.
	7.	All 98 coaches have completed age appropriate SYFA child and youth
		football coach certification, as per Quality Mark status. All teams are
		covered by registered and trained first aiders and all volunteers are
		appropriately disclosure checked.
	8.	486 boys and girls are registered to train and play regularly. Training is
		offered for all age groups once or (for most olderteams) twice a week.
	9.	The club now offers weekly age specific specialist goalkeeper training
	10.	In2023wecompleted ourlong-term goal ofupgrading the playing
		facilities at Dovecot Park at a cost ofapproximately £150k, which was
		completely financed by the club.
Financial review
Brief statement ofthe charity’s policy	The club requireseach year group to at least breakeven to cover their
on reserves	operating costs. If this is not achieved, a maximum of£300 will be paid
	from central funds. Any other shortfalls will be made up through
	fundraising.
Details ofany deficit	Deficit in year but retained surplus cumulatively. In the year, funds raised
	in several prioryears for upgrading football pitches were spent for
	completing that purpose. The majority ofspend was in the prior year.
Donated facilities and services (ifany)	With the exception ofour early year’s partnership with Play2Learn, all
	coaching, administration and first aid is provided on by registered
	volunteers.
	Our planning committee is offering significant benefit in kind with respect
	to pitch	upgrade. This includes planning consultation, project management
	andleaserenegotiation.
