The prevention or relief of poverty. Our mission to increase public awareness about the true level of hunger in our community.

Our vision is to help alleviate hunger in our community by distributing donated food to those facing genuine crisis.

The prevention or relief of poverty in Kilsyth and surrounding areas but not exclusively by providing emergency food supplies to individuals in need and/or charities, or other organisations working to prevent or relieve poverty.

Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the financial period

This year has been another challenging year with the lasting effects of covid and the financial crisis that families are facing.

Whilst numbers were slightly lower than last year, they were still significantly higher than normal.

We have now started to provides assistance where possible with utility top ups for families in crisis.

Our shop the Lighthouse has remained open this year and is providing a much-needed service to those in our community.

The highlight of the year as always for us was Christmas.

Each year we provide Christmas hampers to families in crisis within our community. This was our 13[th ] year doing this.

Christmas 2021 we provided Christmas dinner with all the trimming for 228 families in our local community who were facing a bleak Christmas.

Each family also received a New year’s dinner with all the trimmings and one weeks shopping on top of this.

We also provided a Santa sack full of gifts for 288 children who would otherwise have gone without at Christmas.

We were overjoyed this year to be given almost £9 thousand pounds worth of gifts from Mission Christmas which was greatly appreciated by the families who received these.

I would like to extend my sincere gratitude and thanks to the Food Bank volunteers who have worked tirelessly again this year.

They have gone above and beyond and given their time selflessly to assist those who were facing some of the most harrowing times of their life.

I am truly thankful for their efforts and commitment to serving those in crisis is our community.

I would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to our supporters and partners who have continued to support us throughout this time.
