**Purposes:** &#x27;the advancement of education&#x27;,&#x27;the advancement of citizenship or community development&#x27;,&#x27;the advancement of the arts, heritage, culture or science&#x27;,&#x27;the provision of recreational facilities, or the organisation of recreational activities, with the object of improving the conditions of life for the persons for whom the facilities or activities are primarily intended&#x27;

**What the charity does:** Our organisation was set up to provide a facility where local people can meet socially for entertainment, to encourage community spirit and integration and seek to prevent social exclusion, particularly for the elderly or lonely. We do this by arranging regular social events such as educational talks, indoor bowling, soup lunches, board games evenings and film nights. There are also music evenings with food, eg Burns Suppers and usual Christmas &amp; New Year festivities.

**Objectives:** To provide recreational facilities, and organise recreational activities, with such facilities/activities being made available to members of the public at large with the object of improving their conditions of life. 4.2 To advance the arts, heritage, culture and recreation. 4.3 To advance education and. 4.4 To advance citizenship and/or community development (which may include the promotion of civic responsibility, volunteering, the voluntary sector and/or the effectiveness or efficiency of charities)  through the provision of services which contribute to advancing well-being, (primarily the well-being of residents within the area of benefit) including (i) the provision of recreational facilities and. (ii) the development and delivery of arts and cultural activities and events, artistic programmes, and educational projects.
