Objectives: (THREE) After paying the expenses of carrying out the trust purposes, the trustees shall apply the income from the Trust Funds or such part thereof as they shall think proper at such times and in such amounts as they shall decide for the purposes of the prevention or relief of poverty, the advancement of education, the advancement of health, the saving of lives, the relief of those in need by reason of age, ill health, disability, financial hardship or other disadvantage or any other charitable purpose that may be regarded as similar to any of the preceding objects and purposes. (FOUR) Any distributions of income may include but not be exclusive to the following specific charitable bodies: The Foundation for Positive Mental Health. The University of Edinburgh Development Trust. The Royal Blind Asylum and School, Edinburgh. Donaldson’s School, Linlithgow. The Aged Christian Friend Society of Scotland and Edinburgh City Mission. If any of the aforementioned charitable bodies has changed its name or has amalgamated with or transferred its assets to any other body, or has been wrongly designed, or has ceased to exist, or is in liquidation or is no longer operating, then the trustees may make distributions of income to such other charitable body with similar purposes as the trustees may in their sole discretion decide. “charitable body” and “charitable Bodies” shall mean a body or bodies on the Scottish Charity Register which are also regarded as charitable purposes in relation to the application of the Taxes Acts.
