To consult with and represent the needs and aspirations of the community and to lobby and work wilh private, statutory and voluntary bodies to take any action as appropriate
To promote and develop community action To be a means whereby the community is able to voice opinions on local matters that affect their lives and well-being
Summary of the main activities in relation to these objects
As the driving force behind the Cardenden Community Action Plan we run 4 community shop in the village. All profits are used to support Community groups and projects.
This is only one of many priorities in the plan that was developed after extensive consultation and participatory budgeting processes We report back to tha community at the Village Fair in August.

Achievements and performance
theSummary of TheCommunityShop opened in January 2016 continues to raise money to enable the forum to main continue to carry out improvements to our village. This year has been another challenging one achievements with a drop in income. of the The trustees made the decision to reduce donation amount from £250 to £150 until shop profits charity during increase. Over the year we were able to make donations to support 9 local community groups the financial including-: 4" Fife Scout Group, Walking Group, Cardenden Parent Council, Village Fair. Bonfire period Committee, Highland Games, Cardenden Nursery, Cardenden Youthwork _— Memorial Committee
T2TT (Tots to Teens Togs): continues to support young families with free clothing and referrals to the Rainbow Pot have continued throughout the period Small Information Plaques/ Benches: plaques detailing places of local historical interest have been placed at various places in village to generate discussion, In conjunction with the local history group, we have placed a plaque at the Smiddy, Woodend and are the process of arranging a plaque on a cairn at the site of Dundonald Pit and the Double Block. Information booklet; 2000 copies of the A5 booklet were distributed to all households in the village. The information booklet will be updated annually and copies available in the Community Shop, the library, community centres and schools in addition to digital copies, Village Fair: Unfortunately, the 2024 Village Fair had to be cancelled due to bad weather. We normally report back to the community at this event and award the Community Champion of the year. This took place the next month at the Highland Games.
Highland Games: Continues to thrive and will hold their 5” Highland Games on the 14" of September. 2025. Cardenden Walking Group: have continued their weekly walks in the local area and several further afield. They have been busy upgrading local paths. They have produced an information leaflet on the Bowhill Woodland. Former institute- 2024 saw the completion of this project turning the former institute into ten flats. OVHA have been commended for the high standard of this build being nominated for an architectural award. The forum members were delighted to attend a viewing of the completed flats before they were occupied. History group- continue to meet on a Tuesday evening. They have helped with information plaques for the village. They have also repaired and renewed information cairn at Carden Tower and site of Last Duel in Scotland 4" Fife Scout Group- 2024 finally saw the group complete the build of their new Scout Hall on Orebank Road their old hall was destroyed bya fire in February 2019. The group appreciated help received from the Forum over the six years Floral enhancements- in 2024 the Environment Group in conjunction with Cardenden Community Council ensured hanging baskets in addition to boxes on railings decorated the village. Christmas lights- the Environment Group applied for funding for 2024 lights and we continue to support when required, Dune's View and Gammie Place area- we have continued to monitor this area and with the help of the community payback team it is being well kept. Fife Council have planted a Christmas Tree there and this will be the focus for Christmas Lights in 2025

Action Plan: our action plan was started with a ‘Cardenden Can’ public event in August where we ascertained what the community wanted — the information gathered is being used to compile our next action plan which we look forward to publishing in the next few months. 3,
