Moniaive Initiative was formed to deliver legacy projects for Moniaive and the surrounding parish of Glencairn. We act as an anchor organisation to support existing activity and to encourage, coordinate and develop new activity. We consult regularly to identify specific challenges and then investigate and develop actions to address those challenges. We currently run a community hub and charity shop, rent out an affordable house, operate a community garden, deliver Health & wellbeing activities, and support projects to improve sustainable transport, community land access and local flood and economic resilience.

Objectives: The organisation has been formed to benefit the community of Glencairn with the following purposes: To relieve rural isolation and social and economic disadvantage due to remote location To advance sustainable community development To encourage participation in education, arts and culture and leisure for all individuals in the community.
