The purpose of the charity is to benefit those in the local community who are diagnosed with Downs Syndrome, their families and anyone with an interest in the groups aims and objectives by providing recreational facilities or organising recreational activities with the aim of improving the conditions of life for the people, for who the facilities or activities are intended. the relief of those in need by reason of age, ill-health, disability, financial hardship or other disadvantage. the advancement of education. the promotion of equality and diversity.

Objectives: (a) To support families, carers and individuals whose lives are touched by Down's Syndrome for the benefit of their health and well being (b) To advance education and knowledge for families and carers with children affected by Down's syndrome (c) To promote equality and diversity and raise awareness of Down's Syndrome in the county of Orkney
