The Croft is the charitable organisation that runs Barlinnie Visitors Advice and Support Service. We operate out of HMP Barlinnie Prison and are open 7 days a week to cover all visitor sessions to support partners, families and friends visiting their loved ones in Barlinnie. By improving the visit experience for families we hope to increase the number of visits and facilitate more families visiting more often. We improve communications between visitors and prison staff and advocate for needs of families. and support families to build their resilience and confidence, reduce stigma and isolation, build internal capacity, improving knowledge and understanding of the support available to them (through our many partner organisations), the options open to them and the possibilities for better futures and opportunities.
