Africa on the Ball is a Scottish charity that changes lives through football in sub-Saharan Africa, principally in Zambia. We use sport as a vehicle to address poverty, advance education, improve health outcomes, and develop communities. Our programmes include community football tournaments, primary school outreach, tertiary education scholarships, and HIV/AIDS awareness activities. We work through an Executive Director and contractors based in Zambia, supported by a volunteer trustee board in Scotland. In 2025 we reached 4,750 participants across Maamba, Lundazi, Chongwe and Lusaka, awarded 10 scholarships, and completed a pitch drainage project enabling year-round activity. We are currently developing a Community Education Clubhouse and pursuing funding for a 3G artificial pitch at our Kalingalinga base.
