Str￿ture, Go¥ernance and Management
Constltutlon
Siri Guru Nanak Gurdwara Dundee is a charity re8lStered on 10 December 2013. It 15 an Unincorporated
Association and remains as Such. Previously to re8lStration the organisation was also an unincorporated
ass¢xiation. The association consists of a Management Committee and a body of members. The 8eneral
membership is open to all Sikhs.
Appolntment of Man4oment Commlttee
The Management Committee meets at least slx times a year with the AGM held once a year. The first flve
offlce bearers of the a550cialion shall also be the trustees of the association. Management committee
members are elected 81 annually and are open to all general members of the association. There must be a
minimLtm of four and 3 maxlmum of nlne members.
Oblectlves and Artlvltles
The purpose of the Slrl Guru Nanak Gurdwara Dundee will be the advancement of educ*ion, the
advancement of religion. The provlsSon of recreatlonal facllitles, or the organisation of recreatlonal
actlvitles, with the oblect of Improving the conditlon5 of Ilfe for the person5 whom the facllltles or activltles
are primarlly Intended.
Actlvltles
The charity promotes the teachln8s of the Slri Guru Granth Sahlb, and the Slkh faith by holding
congregations to read and recite the holy prayers. There are various vislts organised for speakers and recitals
that are very well attended. The Gurdwara has also organised a Punjabi class con51Stin8 of about 10 children
who learn Punlabi language and teachin8 of the Sikh faith. A new Kirtan class is organised to teach children
muslc to accompany hymns. The children enjoy learning here which encourages their development in a safe
and carlng envlronment. The Gurdwara provSdes a cradle to grave servlce, from the polnt of a first baptism
to the weddSnBs and finally funeral servlces. We as the commlttee work to facllitste all requirements of the
membership which can include organlslng Sikh camps for the development ol young and old without
discrlmlnation of anyone.
Achlevements and Performance
The Gurdwara had sutcessfully achieved charitable status Sn December 2013. It Is expected that the charity
status will secure the continuity of the organisation for the future.
A part of the yearly examination by the Environmental Health department has been completed and we are
pleased the inform that again the Gurdwara has gained another pass certificate.
FollowinE the great challenges of the covid 19 pandemic, the Gurdwara and its congregation have survived
and now aim to ￿bUIld its place in the Sikh community.

Financlal Review
Our main source of funding is from donations provided in the donations box or donations provided for a
receipt. Thi5 has seen a retovery following a drop in donation5 due to Covid-19 Pandemic.
The main element of the expenditure is insurance costs followed by Gas costs and Electric which wa5
incurred during the year.
Plans for future perlods
Following many years of discussion the management commlttee believe that the facilities for men have
deteriorated severely and that new facilities be provided. We have engaged architects and building
consultants to create a plan and obtain Planning Permission. Following granting of permission we are
nearing the conclusion of tendering proce55 and appoint a contractor.
We will also continue the expansion of teachln85 of the Sikh faith.
Reserdes Policy
The charity15 operated by volunteers and incurs no salary related eosts. There are no debts lo be met bv
the charlty,. therefore a policy on reserves is not currently required. The reserves In hand at 31, March
2024 are £160,555 which the charity considers to be appropriate.

I report on the accounts of Siri Guru Nanak Gurdwara Dundee for the year ended 31 March 2024 as set out
on page5 5 to 8.
Respectlve responsibllltles of trustees and independant examlner
The charlty's trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordante with the terms of
the Charities and Trustee Investment (Scotlandl Art 2Ci15 and the Charities Account5 (Scotlandl
Re8ulations 2006.
The charity triJ5tees consider that the audit requirement of Regulation Iolllldl of the Accounts Regulatlons
does not apply. It is my responslbility to examine the accounts as required Ltnder Section 44llllcl of the
Art and to state whether partlcular matter5 have come to my attentlon.
Basls of Independent examlner's ststement
My examination 15 carried out in accordance wlth Regulation 11 of the Charities Accounts (Scotlandl
Regulations 2006. An examination includes a review of the accountin8 records kept by the charlty and è
omparlson of thÈ accounts presented with those records.
It also Includes conslderation of any unusual item5 or dlsclosures in the accounts and Seeks explanation5
from the trustees concernin8 any such matters. The procedures undertaken do noi provide all the evidence
that would be required In èn audlt and, consequently, I do not express an audit oplnion on the accounts.

l. Basis ot accounting
These accoLJnts have been prepared on the Receipt5 and Payrrtents bèsis in accordance with the Charitie5
& Trustee Investment (Scotlandl Act 2005 and the Charities Accounts Iscotlandl Regulations 2006.
2. Nature and purpose of funds
Unrestricted funds are those that may be used at the discretion of the management committee In the
furtherance ol the objects of the charity. The mariagement committee maintain a 5in8le fund for the dav-
to-day running of the Gurdwara.
Restricted funds may only bo used for the spec1fic purposes. Restrlctlons arlse when funds are raised for
specific purposes, or specifically mentioned by a donor.
3. Related party transactlon
The Guidwara insurance policy Include5 Trustee Indemnity Insurance for all its rnanagement committee
and trustees, No other remuneration wa5 paid to tho managcment committee or any connected persons
durin8 the year. No trustee received expenses durin8 the year.
4. Donatlons
Donations Teceived during the year have all been from general donations towards the running costs of the
Gurdwara and a gift aid reclaim.
