LYLE GATEWAY15CIO) REPORT OF THE TRUSTEES ICont'd} For the year ending 31 December, 2024 AcfiviTIES AND ACHIEVEMErirs Gateway is staffed by 24volunteer5 and 5 pald employee5, one of whom Is full tlme and four part tlme, on a weekly rota who provlde an attractlve ran8e of food and refreshments at reasonable prices, The volunteers work on a six-weekly rota wlth the employed staff working every week. All do a great deal to create a welcoming 8tm05phere and th15 help5 Stlmulate growing in what takes place. The footfall Is now averaging 250 on Tuesdays and Thursdays throughout the year however wlth one Charity who were based at Lyle Gateway moving to thelr own premlses thls number has dropped slightly. The facilities are open to all and there 15 no obll8atlon to be a member or not. however we are pleased that 164 have detlded to become members. 2024 was a very busy year for Lyle Gateway. Regular Events Photography Walks took place on Monday5 from January to August to various venues and were attended by an average of 16 participants. The Drop-in Cafe held on Tuesdays and Thursdays was well attended and the investment in a Merrychèf hlgh speed oven allowed the range of ft)od on offer to be extended wlth healthier options, cleaner cooking environment and a quicker turn round of orders. Table tennis and Tal-chl sesslons were popular with Tai Chi sessions held outside when weather allowed. On Wedne5dJys a Toddler5 Group met in conjunctlon with Inverclyde Bothy, Health worker5 attend and are available to offer advlce to parents on nutrition etc. Average attendance throughoutthe year was 20. On Friday5 Singing for Wellbeing session5 were popular and were well 5UPPOrted throughout the year with a fundraising concert held with proceeds spllt between Gateway and other loca ch&rities. On Fridays frorn July to December, Lyle Gateway was running a new wmmunlty drop In café with an international flavour. A team of New Scot5 will be taking over the café wlth the support of the Gateway team. Each week we have flavours from around the world on offer. The 5trutture of the café wlll glve an opportunlty for those who have found refuge in InverclyLae to glve back to thelr new community. There will be space for long term residents of Inverclyde to come alongslde our newest member to bulld relatlonshSps In a relaxed, friendly atmosphere whilst breaking bread together. The café prlces will match those we have on the othor days of the week helping to alleviate flnancial barrlers that some people may have to contend wlth. New Scots wlll be encouraged by Your Voice and our local Scottlsh Refugee Councll workerto come along.

LYLE GATEWAY (SCIO) REPORT OF THE TRU5fEES (Convd) For the year endln8 31 December, 2024 ACTIVITIES AND ACHIEVEMENTS (con*'d} One Off Events During the summer w# arran8ed a vlsit to Flnlaystone when 38 members had an enjoyable day with afternoon tea and fortunatelythe weatherwas kind. In November, 36 member5 had fternoon tea at Dobbles, and for Chrlstrnas shopplng. Scottlsh Refugee Week Event Scottlsh Refugee Week- On Frlday 21st June we were excited to host Inverclyde's first Scottish ReTugee Week event alongslde Your Volce. We also worked closely wlth the Scottish Refugee Council to help us dellver the event. We had food, art and music from the various cultural backgrounds of those who have made Inverclyde home. The day was a great succe55 wlth approximately 400+ In attendance, The sanctuary was bustlins all day. It was heartwarmlngtosee ourcommunlty wminstogethertosupport people asthey make Invercwde their new home.TFe feedback from our Newscots and the Scattlsh Refugee Council has been very positive. People are already looking forward to having another event next year. Special thanks have to go our volunteer Lesley and also our schwl work placement pupil or the Incredibly busy shift they put in all the whllst smllin8 and going out of thelrway to make people feel welcome, On Tuesday 19th December we held our Chrlstmas party whlch wa5 attended by approxlmately 120 people. We star'4ed wlth the usual carol slnglng. After the carols we had the usual sandwiches and cake which by all accounts went down well. On Christmas Day we again hosted dinner for 38 people who would otherwise have been sitting alone for Christmas. The dinner consisted of soup, turkey with all the trimming5, trifle, dumpling and cream, mince pies and cream. tea, coffee and mints. donations from othefs. Our thanks go to the helpers who gave up part of their Christmas Day to serve the food, A spfjeial thanks goes to our °Butthe￿, friend Thanks also to who Stayed after the Christmas Day service, welcorr.ed our guest5 and wished all a Merry Ihrlstmas, followed by grace. Our c105e working relationship with The Kidron Project contliiue5 to grow with Lyle Gateway sharing an office space with them at Lyle Klrk.

Total Grant Fundlng of £69,300 has be@n received in 2025 up to the date of this report enable thè tharity to continue to offer their servlcÈs. In Aprll Lyle Gateway su¢ce5sfully bid for the Inverclyde Healthwalk Programme which wa5 formerly delivered by Inverclyde Bothy 5UPPOrted by Cycling UK to be based from Lyle fjateway. FINANCE The Accounts will be presented for approval and frorn these tt wlll be seen that a defl¢lt Is reported for the second year in suco5sion. The Committee recognlse5 the reasons for these Lteficits and has put artlons in place to address thls. Thanks to our volunteers, Catering contlnues to contribute providlng not just an excellent servfce to users, but a150 a Sour￿ of the necessary fundln8 to meet our expenses. Unrestrlcted Funds Lyle Gateway was Initially funded by Lyle Kirk In 2012 with a donation of £500 and a further £1,5CQ from the Edward Kerr Trust, an Elldowment Fund under the control of the Lyle Kirk Se55ion. In 2012, a grant of £2,000 was received from the Church of Scotland 'Go for It, project to assist W￿th set-up costs relatlng to the provision of a Serverv. Closing unrestrltted fund5 Stand at -£589 which is not a satisfactory situation and steps have been taken to return the balance to a sum whlch would ideally cover4 months of unrestricted expenditure. Restricted Funds An analvsis of Rp.strictgd funds is ghown Js a note to the aeeaunts. Thls sets Out the 3gurce of each Grant received, how It has been spent and the balance, if any, which is avallable to be spent in 2025. The total of this 15 £9,365.
