wdkers who raised £8,163.
Once again. we had our biggest fundraising lum-out for The Beast Race- a highly popular muddy
obstacle course Ihal takes pla￿ in September every year. We sold out of our 50 spaces very quickly.
and aft8r excluding the enty fees, our fundraksing total for this event was £14,396. Oue lo ils onwing
popubrity. we hbwe booked land sold outl of a further su spaces for the 2025 event
We also haj rtders take on R￿Je the North, a larye ¢yding event in Angus in August2024. They
raised a total of £3￿ for us.

Individual fundraisin
Our largest ind&pandent fijndraising effort came from five dads in Banchory, who took on an
ultramarathon challenge for Friends of the Neuro Ward. Horizons & a medical centre in Brisbane. Not
only did they raise an incredible £5807 for each cause, bul they also did a brillianl job of raising
awareness of our work. They shared their very emotive glory in the local press and shared thelr
ullrarnarathon efforts on socials (including as they ran through the nighll. The family who Inspired the
challenge are now keen to help us spend the rnoney in NRU, and we will work with them and staff to
ensure it's put lo suitsble use.
We also had fm) people lake on Run Garioch (£2,289), a former patient taking on the London
Marathon {£1.628), a patienfs sister & friend completing the Stralhclyde Half Marathon (£1.82018nd a
former patient's daughler doing the EdifibuTgh Marathon {£658) and a family cllmbing Bennachie
{£2,0001.
A team from 8 local PT class nominated Friends of the Neuro Ward & Chest Heart and Stroke
Scotland to benefil from their fundraising, and they took part in the Kiltwalk and MacTuff (another
muddy obstacle ￿urSel for us- splitting their effort. We received £1.074.75 from the group.
We've also gratelully reeeived patient donations from the ward and a small number of funeral
donations.

As ever, we are actively encouraging staff to come to us with requests from
equipmentslupgradeslsupport and have noticed an uptake in this.
