The trustee5 present their report and receipts and payments accounts of the charity for the year ended
31 March 2025.
Structure, governance and management
The charty is known as the Bleachingfield Centre Management Committee and is a Scottish Charrtable
Incorporated O￿anIs3t￿n (SCIOI, registered as a charity since 10 September 2013. It 15 governed by the
rules of its constitution.
Members of the SCIO are repre5entative5 of groups operating in the centre in line with the constitution.
The Board are recruited from the member group and represent the Trustee of the charity. The
rnana8ement of the charity 15 the responsibility of the Trustees who are elected under the terms of the
constitution.
Objertives and activitses
Bleachin8field Centre Management Committee exists to provide the following charitable objectives:
l. To advance education and to provide or assist in the provision of facilities for recreation or other
leisure time occupations where such is in the interest of social welfare, health and community
wellbeing with the object of improving the conditions of lrfe of the members of the community in
the area of benefit and for that purpose to a550ciate with the East Lothian Council (referred to as
the "Council") voluntary organi5ations and/or inhabttants in the Dunbar High School catchment
area (referred to as 'the learning community.).
2. To co-operate with the Council and its successors in office in establishin& maintainin8 and
managing The Bleachingfield Centre in the area of benefit which is provided or grant-aided by the
Council insofar as it is established maintained and managed for the attainment of object {11.
Achievements and perfomwnce
Joint statement from Chair and Community Development Officer
Our plans to build the centre back to full capacity once again remains a priority-
Unfortunately. The Fields Cafe dosed but after it was readvertised for lease. we now have new tenants
who have opened the Ra￿￿haCkleS Cafe. This is thriving.
A5 well as seeing new groups arriving and using the centre weekly now for activities. Our priority Is to
keep growing the centre and holding more open/charity days for the groups within to keep
promoting the centre and groups.

Recelpts in the year were £0 {2024: £0) ana payrnents were £1,151 (2024: £1060), gAving net payments
of £1.151 (2024: net payments of ￿Q60).
Funds under management at 31 March 2025 weJr £10276. of which £9.576 w￿e restrtcted to their use.
Reserves
The charity held unrestricted reserves at 31 March 2025 of £7￿ {2024: £7tM)l. The dwity relles on East
Loihian Council for the mainienance of the buildin& and Individual rnernber groups meet their
own financial liabilities. The trustees consider the reserves held to be adequate.
The charity hold5 restricted reserves for specific projects whereby spending of the funding is subject to
certain condition5. As at 31 March 2025. the total restricted reserves were £9.576 (2024: £10.728)
Maior rlsks fadn8 the tharity
The trustees have a55e55ed the major risks to which the charity is exposed and are satisfied that systems
are in place to mitigate exposure to the major risks. The principal risk facing the charity is withdrawal of
support from East Lothian Council.
Plans for future period5
The Plan for the trurtees is to meet early ir& 2026. We have changed the constitution and we w]ll be
welcoming new members to join thc CO￿￿1(1¢e. We plan io have events and open days lor the groups
using the Centre throughout 2026 to encourage more users.

RespÈ¢tlve responslbilities of trustees and examlmr
The charivs Trustees a￿ ￿spOnsible for the preparation of the account5 in accordance with the terms
of the Charitie5 and Trustee Investment (Scotland) Act 2￿5 and the Charities Accounts (Scottand)
Regulations 2C06las amended) I'the 2CIJ6 Regulations"). The chariVs Trustees consider that the audit
requirement of Regulation 10111 {dl of the Regulations does not apply. It 15 my responsibilty to examine
the accounts as required under section 44111 (tl of the Act and to state whether particular matters have
come to my attention.
Basis of Independent ekirninerfs statement
My examlnation Is carried out In attordance with Regulation 11 of the 2￿6 Regulations. An examination
Includes a review of the accountinE records kept by the tharlty and a cornparison of the accounts
presented with those records. It also indudes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the
accounts and seeks explanations from the Trnstees concerning any such matters. The procedures
undertaken do not provlde all the evidence that would be required in an audlt, and consequentty I do not
expre55 an audit oplnlon on the View given by the actounts.

In the course of rny examlnation, no matter has come to my attentK•n:
l. whlch 8r￿S me reasonable cause to believe that in any material respect the requirements:
to keep accountin8 records in accordance with Sectlon 44(11 (a) of the 2(X15 Act and
Re8ulation 4 of the 2l￿ Regulations
to prepare accounts which accord with the accountin8 records and comply with
Re8ulatioll 9 of the 2(M)6 Accounts Re8ulath)n5 have not been met, or
2. to which. in my opinion, attention 5￿Uld be drawn in orderto enabSe a proper understsndin8 of
the accounts to be reathed.
