Notes to Accounts
1. ACCOUNTING POLICIES
Basis of preparing the flnancial statements
The financial statemènts of Ihe Gharity, which is a public benefit entity under FRS 102, have
been prepared in accordance with the Charities SORP. IFRS 1021 'Accounling and Reporting
by Charities.. Statement of Recommended Practice applicable lo charities preparing their
accounts in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and
Republic of Ireland IFRS 1021 (effective 1 January 20191,, Financial Reporting Standard 102
'The Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland, and the
Charities 2nd Trustee Investment Iscotlandl Act 2005. The financial statements have been
prepared under the historical cost convention.
Income
All income is recognised in the Statement of Financial Activities once the charity has enlitlemenl
to the funds, it is probable that the income wlll be re￿Ived, and the amount can be measured
reliably.
Expenditure
Liabilities are recognised as expenditure as soon as there 1$ a legal or conslruclive obligation
commilling the charity to that expenditUTO, Il is probable that a Iransler of economic benefits will
be required in selllemenl and the amount of the obllgalion can be measured reliably.
Expenditure is accounted for on an accruals basis and has been classified under headings that
aggregate all cost related lo the category. Vwhere costs cannot be directly attributed lo particular
headings they have been allocated lo activilies on a basis conslstent with the use of resource8.
Investmonts
Investments are slated al market value as at 5 April 2024.
Taxation
The charity is exempl from lax on its charitable activities,
Fund accounting
Unrestricted funds can be used in accordance with the ¢haritable objectives at Ihe discretion of
the Iruslees.
Reslricled funds can only be used for particular restricted purposes within the objects of the
charity. Restrictions arise when specified by the donor or when funds are raised for partiGular
restricted purposes.

The charity's trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts In ￿COrdanCe with the terms
of the Charities and Trustèe Investment {Scolland) 2005 Act and th8 Charities Accoun18 (Scollandl
Regulations 2006. The charity trustees consider that the audit requirement of Regulation 10111 Idl of
the A¢Gounls Regulations does not apply. 11 is my responsibility to examine the accounts as required
under $edion 4411 } Icl of the Act and lo stale whether particular maiters have come lo my attention.
Basls of Independpnt Examlner's Stat9mont
My examination is carried out in acc(Kdance with Regulatlon 11 Df the Charities Accounts IS¢otlandl
Regulations 2006. An examination illdudes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and
a compaiison of the accounts presented with those records. 11 also includes Gonsideralion of any
unusual ilems or disclosuros in the a¢¢ounls and seeks explanations from the Iruslees concerning any
such mallers. The procedures undertaken do nol provide all the evidence that woukl be required in an
audit and. consequently, I do not expr&ss audit opinion on the accounts.

which gives me reasonable cause to belleve that in any material respect the requirements-
