Introduction
Scottish Afghan Society is a small Scottish Charity (SC0441701, and operating in Glasgow. We seek to support the
advancement of religion, the provision of recreational facilities, or the organisation of recreational activities, with the
object of improving the conditions of life for the persons for whom the facilities or activities are primarily intended, the
promotion of religious or racial hamiony.

and the rest ofthe community at large, thereby providing better knowledge and understanding of Muslim culture by other
communities and promoting integration of other diverse communities,. To promote the physical, intellectual, social. moral
and spiritual development of all members of the Muslim communtty with an emphasis on young people, and by providing
a broad range of educational, recreational and spiritual activitie5 and To promote racial and religious hamiony and
mutual respect be￿een the Muslim community and other communities, thus enabling the Muslim community to
participate in and fully contribute to all aspects of civic lrfe
Activitie8
The Scottish Afghan Society managed, provided, and handled the distribution process of food and non-food
items to Afghan and local families suffering from Ihe pandemic.
Thé Scottish Afghan S￿Iety held a community and $o¢ial gathering in tern￿ of social awareness. safety,
heath, and hygiene dated 24, July. 2020.
The Scottish Afghan Society held meeting and gathering dated .19, Aug, 2021. to celebrate Afghanistan
Independence Day and proclamation. The program included dinner, refreshment and music.
The Scottish Afghan Society held and celebrate Eid-ukFitr ceremony dated°13. May, 2021. for local and
community members the program included dinner, refreshment, and music.
The Scottish Afghan Society held different meetings with different groups of new Afghan refugee arrival to
hear refugee's challenges, drfficulties, and struggles accordingty recommendation and adVI￿S were provided.
The Scottish Afghan Society thrive to find the solutions for most cases of the refugees in different social, and
cultural temis.
The Scottish Afghan Society successfvlty distributed lots of charity packages to newty refugee arrivals.
The Scottish Afghan Society visited, Advised, heard the challenges, of newly arrival refugees in different
states of Scotland such as Glasgow, Dundee, Edinburgh, Greenock, Fife, and Dumbarton.
The Scottish Afghan Society held many social gatherings with newly arrival refjjges to introduce the purpose,
assistan¢e, and cooperation ofthe scriety.
The Scottish Afghan Society provided recommendation and advice in social and CLsltural aspects.
The Scottish Afghan Society work closely with the Afghan Embassy based in London to resolve the issues of
obtaining national ID cards, passports, and visa processes.

The Scottish Afghan Society managed and provided health education and advi￿ for the members of the
community.
The Scottish Afghan Society conducted Numerous meetings with police Scoland regarding community issues
and safety-
The Scottish Afghan Society participated in demonstration in London to raise their voices.
Statement of Responslblliti¢s of Members
The committee members are responsible for the preparation of the accounts for each financial year, which gives a true
and fair review of the state of affairs al the end of the year and of tts results for that period. In preparing those
accounts the members are required to"
Select suitable accounting policies and then apply them consistenlly.
Make judgements and estimates that a￿ reasonable and prudent
stste whether applicable accounting standards have been followed
Prepare the ac¢ounts on the going concem basis unless it is inappropriate to assume that the scheme
will continue
The committee members are responsible for keeping proper accounting records whtch disclose with reasonable
accuracy at any time the financial position of the project and which will enable them to comply with accounting
procedure5 of The Law Reform (MI￿lIanetsus Provisions) (Scotlandl Act 1990 and The Charities Accounts
{Scotlandl regulations 1992. As a Scottish charity they must also comply with the appIl￿ble tsmis and provisions of
the Charities & Trustee Investment (Scotlandl Regulations 20C6. They are responsible for safeguarding the assets of
the organisation and hence for taking reasonable steps for the prevention and detection of fraud or other irregularities.
We shall continue to work to deliver the success￿1 assistance and help required by our service users to the
consistently high stsndard we have been renowned for.
We would also like to take this opportunity to thank our volunteers and supporters from the whole community for their
hard work throughout the year.

The chaTtty's trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the ternis of the Charities
and Trustee Investment (Scotland) 2005 Act and the Charthes Accounts (Scotland} Regulations 2005. The charity
trustees consider that the audit requirement of Regulation 10111 Idl of the Accounts Regulations does not apply. It is
my responsibility to examine the accounts as required under section 44{11 {cl of the Act and to state whether
particular matters have come to my attention.

My examination is carried out in accordance with Regulation 11 of the Charities Accounts (Scolandl Regulations
2006. An examination includes a review of the accounting re¢ords kept by the charity and a comparTson of the
accounts presented with those records. It also inc5udes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the
accounts an¢ seeks explanations from the trustees ¢onceming any such matters. The prO￿dureS undertaken do not
provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit and. consequentty. I do not express an audit opinion on the
accounts.
