Glasgow Afghan United holds its Annual Generdl Meeting (AGMI and Board elections e2ch year.
with all registered members invited to participate and vote.
Previously, our AGM and elections were held in March. However. this year the AGM date has
been changed to 15 June 2026. Going forward. Glasgow Afghan United will hold its AGM
annually in June. with all members continuing to have the opportunity to attend, participate. and
vole in the election of the organisation's Board.
We are invrting an extemal organisation to cary out this election for us.
Objectives and activities

Charitable purposes
Glasgow Afghan United IGAU) is established to support the Afghan communty in Glasgow
and support their full parbcipation in all aspects of civil Society. GAU will oper*e in partnership
with local gr8ssroots communities, and relevant stakeholders within its Charitable objectives in
line with Office of the Scottish Charity Regulatorfs IOSCR) requirements.
1. To bring Afghan people together through social events, celebrations (e.g. Afghan national
events) and any other activities that will support the Afghan community to engage with Ioc81
people in Scotland.

Weekly ESOL Classey for both women and meo helping participants improve
their English lanouaiye skill& confidence, employability, and int¢oration into
Scottish society-
Weekly Sebool Support Classes, providing educational support and homework
assÈstance to help children and young people achieve their ￿11 potential.
Weekly Farsi and Pashto Lantsuaue Classes, supporting children and young
people to maintain their culturdl heritage, language skills: and identity.
Food Parcel Distribution, providing emergency food support to vulnerable

Throuuh these activities, Glasgow Afghan United continued to strentsthen community
i-¢.silieiiLe. reduce Social isolation, prornote equality of opportuniiv, and support
individuals and families to lead healthier, more connected, and more independent lives.

achievements of the charity WoHd Cup Scotland.

Asylum seeker, making sure they yare integrated and are aware of services
and activities around them.
