Glasgow Afghan United are an unincorporated association. We are
govemed by our Constitution. We gained charitable status on the 14th
Jun8 2013.
Trustse racrultment and appointment
Trustees are appointed by the members at the AGM.
Every year on the month of March we hold our election where all members
are invited to votè.
We are inviting an extemal organisation to carry out this election for us.
Objectives and activities

Charitable purposes
Glasgow Afghan United (GAU j is established lo support the Afghan
community in Glasgow and support their f ull participation in all aspects of
civil Society. GAU will operate in partnership with local grassroots
communities. and relevant stakeholders wthin ils charitable objectives in
line wth Office of the Scottish Charity Regulalorfs IOSCRI requirements.
To bring Af ghan people together through social events, celebrations
{e.g. Af ghan national events) and any other activities that will support
the Afghan community to engage wth local people in Scotland.

Summary of the main achievements of GAU has successfully organised a football toumament underthe name of
the charity durfng the financial period
Refugee World Cup Scotland.
GAU women group community breakfast in partngrship has
expanded.
Expanded our services to all over Scotland. supporting new
Afghans and Asylum seeker. making SU￿ they yare integraled
and are aware of services and aclivities around them.
Continue Af ghan Resettlement project in partnership with Scottish
Govemment
Allotment (Growing our Dwn Cultural f ood supported 150 f amilies)
Partnership with UK Home Office, regular community surgeries
Some of our activities are still online lo allow participation of more
members from across Scotland.
Organising weekly football for over 100 youth f rom diverse
background.
Provided Digital Training to our Community to make sure they are
connected and updated.
Provided Digital Devices to Afghan medical Students {Girls} to
make sure they are connected and study.

The charity's trUst￿S are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance
with the terms of the Charits'es and Trustee Investment (Scotland) 2005 Act and the
Charities Accounts (Scotland) Regulations 2006. The charity trustees consider that the
audit requirement of Regulation 10(1) (d) of the Accounts Regulations does not apply. It
is my responsibility to examine the accounts as required under section 44(1) (c) of the Act
and to state whether particular matters have come to my attention.
Basis of independent My examination is carried out in accordance with Regulation 11 of the Charities Accounts
examiner's statement (Scotland) Regulats'ons 2006. An examination includes a review of the accounting records
kept by the charity and a cornparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also
includes consideration of any unusual rf(ems or disclosures in the acwunts and seeks
explanations from the trustees conceming any such matters. The prO￿dureS undertaken
do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audr( and, consequently, I do
not express an audit opinion on the accounts.
