**What the charity does:** Assist the community by having activities and programmes that assist in health and well being

**Objectives:** The organisation&#x27;s purposes are: 1. The advancement of public participation in sport. 2. The provision of recreational facilities, or the organisation of recreational activities with the object of improving the conditions of life for the persons for whom the facilities or activities are primarily intended. 3. The relief of those in need by reason of age, ill-health, disability, financial hardship or other disadvantage. 4  In doing so, the Airdrie Community Trust will undertake to: ?advance education with regard to personal health and well being, through the provision of programmes developed to encourage and assist with exercise and sporting activities as well as clear guidance in respect of diet, the need for appropriate hydration and the timing of meals through the course of the day. ?develop citizenship and improve the overall community by taking an inclusive approach with education and coaching programmes, the aim being to work with individuals who generally do not have access to professional coaches or appropriate facilities. A particular focus [although not the sole focus] will be given to those with enduring mental health issues, alcohol or drug dependencies and learning difficulties. Through changing the focus of these individuals from a sedentary lifestyle towards a more active, socially aware and engaged lifestyle it is hoped that they will in time become better citizens, furthering the work of the Trust through volunteering and, ultimately improving their employability. ?provide, In conjunction with local sports groups and schools, recreational facilities, or the organisation of recreational activities with the object of improving the conditions of life for the persons for whom the facilities or activities are primarily intended.
