Activities

'It carries out activities or services itself'

'the advancement of environmental protection or improvement'

Fidra works with governments, industry and the public to find evidence-based solutions to chemical and plastic pollution problems faced by the environment. Fidra continually scopes new projects on emerging issues and strives to demonstrate how action started at a local level can lead to wider environmental benefits. Fidra’s work is mostly desk based. Occasionally staff have to attend meetings, events and workshops to work together with stakeholders and collaborators. Furthermore, staff may present data and information to promote the work being done at the charity or bring experts or people from the wider community together via webinars to share and discuss problems and solutions to environmental issues. The Trustees take an active interest in all projects being scoped, developed and managed. They attend quarterly project meetings to provide their thoughts, advice and expertise.

Objectives: The purposes of the SCIO are:- (i) the advancement of environmental protection or improvement in particular (but not exclusively) in the area of East Lothian, through the carrying out of or support of projects designed to tackle environmental issues or the advancement of education on environmental matters. and (ii) to promote similar charitable purposes, objects or institutions in such proportions and manner as the Trustees think fit
