19TH PENTLAND SCOUT GROUP Scottish Charity Number: SC043764 Recruitment and appointment of Trustees The Trustees are appointed in accordance with the Poliqi. Organisation and Rules of The Scout Association. Governing Document The Group's governing documents are those of the Scout Association. They consist of a Royal Charter. which in turn gives authority to the Bye Laws of the Scout Association and the Policy. Organisation and Rules of the Scout Association. The Group is a charitable unincorporated association and the purposes and administration arrangements are set out in our constitution. Trustee Recruitment and Appointment Trustees are appointed annually at the group AGM from the parents and Leaders. Charitable purposes The objectives of the Group are as a unit of the Scout Association. The aim of the Scout Association is to promote the development of young peopLe in achieving their full physical. intellectual. social and spiritual potentials. as individuals. as responsible GROUP REPORT PAGEII

The method of achieving the aim of the Scout Association is by providing an enjoyable and attractive scheme of progressive training. based on the Scout Promise and Law and guided by adult leadership. Activities and achievements The Group operates a Squirrel Drey. Beaver Colony, Cub Pack and Scout Troop. All sections ran a range of activities during the year. covering all aspects of the scouting 'balanced programme.. The main activities and achievements of the Group in the year are described on the following pages. Reserves The Group s constitution requires the Trustees to maintain and manage a reserves policy for the Group {incLuding a plan for use of reserves outside of the minimum). Total reserves of £6.495.89 were available for general use by the Group at the end of the year. These funds are held in the Groups bank accounts. There are no outstanding payments. Funds AIL the Group s funds are unrestricted. The Group showed a deficit of -£8.481.14 for the year. The deficit reflects expenditure of money raised for the Scout trip to Kandersteg. Switzerland in July 2024 which was carried forward as a surplus from the previous financial year. Trustee remuneration and expenses The Trustees did not receive any remuneration or expenses during the year.
