OBJECTIVES AND ACTIVITIES
Objectives and aims
The SCIO is established for charitable purposes only, and in particular, the objects are:
the prevention or relief of poverty in Falkirk and surrounding areas in particular but not exclusively by providing
emergency food supplies to individuals in need andlor charities. or other organisations working to prevent or relkeve
poverty. and
to provide services to people who have need of them by reason of their age, ill-health, dtsability, financial hardship or
other disadvantage by Signposting them to additional support services.
The prevention or relief of poverty is to be achieved principally through the provision of food stuffs and essential

This is our charitable objective but it is ffimportant that int¢re5ted parties have a clear understanding of what we do and
how we do it.
Significant activities
A person or family (our clienls) can only access support from the Falkirk Foodbank i.e., a food par¢¢l when we receive
an agreed referral reason from one of our approved referral agents. There are currently over 140 r¢f¢rral agents.
Referrals are logged through our database management system provided by Trussell. Throughout the year improvemenls
to this system have provided us with more accurate infornialion. especially for reporting purposes.
We provide a supply of nutritional food to last for around 7 days. When available, we add any fresh products that we
have in stock. Where there is a know7J dietary issue, we seek to accommodate this. We a150 provide for Halal,
Vegetarian, Gluten Free etc., as and when available. We also can supply baby foods, milk, nappies, and wipes. We
always try and provide for people's pets, (matnly cats and dogs), $0 that people need not skip meals tn order to feed their
pets.
Normally, all food, hygiene products and anirnal foods are doDai¢d to the Foodbank. Monetary donations are also used
to purchase supplies and fuel for deliveries. Donalions are made by individuals, churches, superstores, and other
voluntary agents on a regular basis. We four vans and deliver weekdays except Wednesdays.
