Introduction
Now in our thirteenth year, Bethesda Khankho International (BKI) exists primarily to provide support for a charity in India, serving children in great need often without the support of primary family members. BKI seeks to support this organisation through maintaining links with the wider world, particularly Scotland where BKI exists. Through contact with churches and other interested parties, BKI looks to raise the profile and seeks to gain support in specific areas such as prayer, finance, and other relevant areas.
The following is a summary of the work undertaken by BKI during the year
Church Contact
Relationships with current supporting churches remain strong and are maintained through contact with individuals regularly contributing. A small number of churches have developed their commitment to the project with giving increased and more regular.
Current Situation
The Project continues to face challenges this year due to an outbreak of civil tension in the area. This has led to the need for relief camps to be set up in the area, and the charity has been involved in the initiation and maintenance of this group.
Supporters Meeting
The charity’s President was able to visit in October 2024 and establish and maintain contacts with several donors. There was also a Supporters Meeting held at this time. However, his trip was cut short so trustees from BKI helped to fulfil one of his appointments.
Fundraising and Publicity
As mentioned in the last report, fundraising initiatives and opportunities have been slow, and this is something the trustees recognise that we need to address. We are delighted that contributions continue to make their way to Bethesda.
Financial Contributions
contributors. Total funds raised between April 2024 to March 2025 is £144,026 of which £123,612 was donations & Gift Aid £20,414.
Trustees
The trustees remain in post and have been busy with various constitutional matters and maintaining contact with current donors. Bi-monthly prayer meetings on Zoom are well attended.
