Objectives: 4.1 To rescue, rehabilitate and re-home Staffordshire Bull Terriers. 4.2 To assist, on discretion of the Trustees, with Staffordshire Bull Terrier cross-breeds. 4.3 To ensure all dogs in the care of Scottish Staffordshire Bull Terrier Rescue are provided with a high standard of physical care where physiological needs and requirements are met. 4.4 To work with other rescues, trainers, behaviourists and any other organisation to provide the best possible care for dogs and promote high standards in general dog welfare. 4.5 To ensure that no mentally and/or physically healthy dog in the care of Scottish Staffordshire Bull Terrier Rescue shall be destroyed. 4.6 To refer any cases of alleged cruelty reported to Scottish Staffordshire Bull Terrier Rescue to the appropriate authority capable of investigating the allegations and of instituting proceedings against the person(s) concerned. 4.7 To advocate that adequate legislation is passed to ensure that whenever it is necessary for a dog to be destroyed, it shall be carried out in a humane manner. 4.8 To monitor, so far as is practicable, any Bill, Act of Parliament, Rules, Regulations, Bye-laws, EU Directives and Regulations or Order relating to dogs (“Proposals”) and to make submissions to the appropriate authorities in respect of any such proposals. 4.9 To actively support proposals for the control of the national dog population by advocating neutering dogs whenever practicable or desirable to do so. 4.10 To maintain campaigns in the media and other methods to educate members of the general public to have a responsible attitude towards dogs and their welfare. 4.11 To raise funds for the furtherance of the aims and objectives of the Scottish Staffordshire Bull Terrier Rescue. 4.12 To care for, in exceptional circumstances, other animals or birds until alternative provision for their care can be made 4.13 To advocate on behalf of the Staffordshire Bull Terrier breed to raise awareness and challenge stereotypes.
