**What the charity does:** The organisation&#x27;s purposes are:the prevention or relief of poverty and the relief of those in need by reason of age, ill-health, disability, financial hardship or other disadvantage by providing assistance in conditions of need to: members and former members of the Scottish Police Benevolent Fund (or any former Police Benevolent Fund within Scotland) and their dependants persons or organisations having or having had some direct connection with the Police Service of Scotland (or any former Police Force within Scotland) and their dependants. We do this by accepting applications for financial assistance which after a background report is completed the application is heard by the board of Trustees if the application is successful funds are distributed to the applicant. If unsuccessful a letter is sent to the applicant informing them if the outcome.

**Objectives:** The organisation&#x27;s purposes are: the prevention or relief of poverty and the relief of those in need by reason of age, ill-health, disability, financial hardship or other disadvantage by providing assistance in conditions of need to:  members and former members of the Scottish Police Benevolent Fund (or any former Police Benevolent Fund within Scotland) and their dependants  persons or organisations having or having had some direct connection with the Police Service of Scotland (or any former Police Force within Scotland) and their dependants And by supporting the Police Treatment Centre [Scotland] and other charities for the benefit of persons or organisations having or having had some direct connection with the Police Service of Scotland (or any former Police Force within Scotland) and their dependants and  the public at large.
