Garnock Valley Community Concert Band Annual Report and Financial Statements Year Ended 31 July 2025 ApDointment of l-rustee= The committee, which meets approximately every six weeks are the charity'5 trustees. Membership of the committee is also open to any interested member of the band. Trustees are elected at the Annual General Meeting which is normally held in June. Under the constitution, there must be a minimum of three and a maximum of 8 elected trustees. The trustees are responsible forthe strategic direction and governance of the Band. Dayto Day running of the band is carried out by the band manager and treasurer and other trustee5 and members as required. Objectives and Activities The organi5ation's purposes are- To encourage and promote the involvement of musicians within the community and surrounding areas to perform in a concert band. To enable musicians of all ages and skill levels to come together and make music for the enjoyment of themselves and others, and to provide a welcoming and friendly atmosphere for its members. To strive continuously to improve each individuals understanding and performance and in turn the overall standard of the band. Ultimately striving to become a competitive band. To increase public awareness of the band and its value in the local community. To carry out the above functions without purpose of gain for the members of the organisation. Any profits or other direct or indirect benefits accruing to the or8anisation shall be used in promoting its objective5. Actiiiities Our activities consist of weekly, two-hour band rehearsals that take place in Garnock Community Campus on Sunday afternoons. These rehearsals allow the band to prepare for a number of concerts and competitions which the band participates in during the course of the year. Achievements and Performanc.p The band currently has 35 members. Over the COUF5e of the yearthe band took part in four community events, including a Christfflas Carol Concert 8t Belth Parish Church and our Annual Concert at St Margaret's Church in Dalry. We also took part in 3 competitions, achieving a platinum award at the National Concert Band Festival and gold plus awards at both Scottish Concert Band Festival5. Page 3

Adult membership is £10012024 £801, Concession Is £8012024- £601 and school children are free. Receipt5 for the year were E4,215.4612024- £4,493.52). Payments for the year were £4,724.4812024 £9,809.35), resulting in a deficit of £509.0212024- £5,315.83). An unrestricted balance of £5,012.7112024- £5.521.731 was available on the 31st July 2025. Plans for Future Periods The trustees intend to continue to operate the band in a similar way to previous financial years. Active efforts are being made to recruit additional members which may result in increased membership fees being received. Rpgynctive responsibilities of Trustee.s and Examiner The charity's trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the terms of the Charities and Trustee Investment Iscotlaridl Act 2005 1"the 2LK)5 Act") and the Charities Accounts (Scotlandl Regulations 2006 las amended) I'the 2CX)6 Regulations"l- The charity's trustees consider that the audit requirement of Regulation 10111 Idl of the 2006 Regulations does not apply. Et is my responsibility to examine the accounts as required under section1441111 Icl of the 2005 Act and to state whether particular matters have come to my attention. Basis of Independent Examiner's Statemen; My examination 15 carried out in accordance with Regulation 11 ol the 2006 Regulations. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those retords. It also includes conslderation of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts and seeks explanations from the trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit and, consequently. I do not expre55 an audit opinion or¢ the view given by the accounts. Independent Examiner's Statemeni In the course of my examination. no matter has come to my attention other than that disclosed below. which gives me reasonable cause to believe that, in any material respect, the requirements:_ to keep accounting records in accordance with section 44llllal of the 2CM)5 Act and Regulation 4 of the 2006 Regulations, and to prepare accounts which accord with the accounting records and comply with Regulation 9 of the 2(K]6 Regulations have not been met, or 2. to which, in my opinion, attention should be drawn in order to enable a proper understandlng of the accounts to be reached. Overall all l am satisfied that the accounting records of the charity are accurate, no matters of note have come to my attention in the course of my examination. Basls of Accounting These accounts have been prepared on the Receipts & Payments basis in accordance with the Charities & Trustee Investment (Scotlandl Act 2005 and the Charities Accounts Iscotlandl Regulations 2006 las amendedl. 2. Nature and purpose of fvnds Unrestricted funds are those that may be used at the discretion of the trustees in furtherance of the objects of the charity. The trustees maintain a single unrestricted fund for the day-to- day running of the Band. Restricted funds may only be used for Specific purposes. Restridions arise when specified by the donor or when funds are raised for specific purposes. 3. Cost of Charitable Activitles Includes Hall Lets costs for rehearsal space, Conductor Fees and Competition Entry Fees. Page 8
