Netherthird Community Action Training was established in June 2012 as a charity social enterprise focussed on providing training and employment opportunities to people aged between 16-24 years old in the Cumnock and surrounding area. To date we have provided over 100 young people with opportunities varying from 4-8 week work experience volunteer placements, 3 month employment opportunities, 6 month employment opportunities and yearlong modern apprentice. This funding will allow us to take on 10 additional 4-8 week work experience volunteer placements by operating our “getting ready for a career in grounds maintenance and landscaping scheme” Our project focusses on providing training, employment and volunteer opportunities to local people (with a focus on young people) who have faced difficulties with gaining employment and other life opportunities due to a num

Objectives: 4.1 The advancement of education through providing accredited training and employability skills, targeted particularly at young people not already in education, training or employment. 4.2 The relief of unemployment among residents of the Netherthird area, including assistance to gain experience and be assisted into full time employment through the provision of work experience for unemployed people. 4.3 The relief of financial hardship among people living or working in the Netherthird area by providing such persons with services which they could not otherwise afford through lack of means. 4.4 The advancement of citizenship and community development by promoting civic responsibility, encouraging volunteering activity and providing volunteers with the opportunity to learn new skills.
