## **Structure Governance & Management**

## **Constitution**

The charity is an unincorporated association. It is governed by its constitution which was adopted on 20 November 2011. Input was granted charitable status by OSCR on 16 March 2012.

## **Appointment of Trustees**

The management committee, which meets on a regular basis, are the charities trustees. Membership of the management committee is open to all interested parties.

Trustees are elected at the Annual General Meeting, held in June. Under the constitution, there must be a minimum of three and not more than nine elected trustees. The trustees may co-opt a further three trustees if they consider that it would be in the interests of Input to do so.

## **Management**

The directorate are responsible for the strategic direction and the trustees the governance of the organisation, whilst day-to-day running is delegated to Mr S Gemmell, a trustee. Mr Gemmell supplies details of progress and development at trustees meetings and via electronic updates.

Our project provides preparation for work for people with additional educational needs (trainees). We work with people of all ages developing both soft and hard skills our trainees need in life and to enter the workforce. Some examples of the soft skills we work on – working with others, confidence, tolerance, following directions, social skills, communication etc. Hard skills are developed in information technology – in a structured induction programme new trainees learn all about computer devices (Computers, Smartphones, Tablets, MiFi and SIMS etc.)

Input takes donated unwanted used/faulty devices and the trainees refurbish these with new software and hardware upgrades. These devices are then given out within the local community. The trainees also support these devices and the users with drop-in sessions open to the public. Through these activities a work ethos is developed, and the trainees get to feel part of their community. These activities help the community recognise the abilities of our trainees rather than the stereotypical view of disabilities.

The trustees are particularly aware of their responsibilities for Health and Safety. In addition to insurance, volunteers and staff all have disclosures under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme.

## **Objectives and Activities**

## **Charitable purposes**

The prevention or relief of poverty, the advancement of education, the advancement of environmental protection or improvement, the relief of those in need by reason of age, ill health, disability, financial hardship or other disadvantage

## **Activities**

It carries out activities or services itself

## **Financial Review**

Our main source of income was from grants and donations and we are constantly sourcing further assistance.

## **Reserves Policy**

The trustees' policy is to maintain reserves to cover normal running costs in order to meet commitments and expenditure.

## **Plans for the Future**

The trustees intend to continue and develop the services provided for the benefit of the people of the community.

Approved by the trustees on 4th June 2025 and signed on their behalf by:
