Dedicated to Scotland’s traditional music, we support, promote, and celebrate community tradition bearers, educators, learners, and professional musicians nationwide. As part of TRACS, we nurture living traditions by supporting musicians, singers, local groups, and safeguarding vital archives and cultural practices. TMFS works with schools, educators, and community organisations to strengthen formal and non-formal traditional music education, develop resources, and promote access for all, including marginalised and neuro-diverse musicians. We advocate for artists and the music industry, offer workshops and professional development, and connect audiences to performers through our directory and newsletters. Our Trad Talk conference, the North Atlantic Song Convention, and regular workshops bring the sector together, encouraging learning, networking, and innovation. TMFS partners with national and international organisations, driving positive change.
