Achievements and Performance
The band had a very productive and successful period 2024-2025. In May the children performed a short concert at the Feis Folk night, this was received well by the audience and fellow performers. October 2024 the band participated in a music day hosted by the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, November Professor John Miller held workshops, followed by a trip to Campbeltown to join the Royal Regiment of Scotland for a day of music making, December our Christmas Carol Concert was very successful and enjoyed by all. Future Plans Looking to the future , we need to continually focus on recruiting alongside raising funds to hopefully enable the band to attend the Scottish Concert Band Festival which would be a tremendous experience for our young musicians. We also hope to attend the Mid Argyll Music Festival and continue to play concerts locally. PRINCIPAL FUNDING The principal areas of funding are grants, donations and fundraising through the giving of concerts.
FINANCIAL REVIEW The Charity had a deficit of £3111.85 (Surplus of £3517.29 in 2024) in the financial year. Total funds at the year end were £2393.89 of which none were restricted. RESERVE POLICY Total unrestricted funds at the end of the year were £2393.89 which are held to support future work of the Youth Wind Band. These are currently held in the charities current account. Independent Examiner's Report
The Charity's trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the terms of the Charities and Trustee Investment (Scotland) 2005 Act and the Charities Accounts (Scotland) Regulations 2006. The charity trustees consider that the audit requirement of Regulation 10(1) (d) of the Accounts Regulations does not apply. It is my responsibilityto examine the accounts as required under section 44(1)(c) of the Act and to state whether particular matters have come to mv attention.
My examination is carried out in accordance with Regulation 11 of the Charities Accounts(Scotland) Regulations 2006. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts and seeks explanations from the trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit and, consequently, | do not express an audit opinion on the accounts.
-
in the course of my examination, no matter has come to my attention.
-
which gives me reasonable cause to believe that in any material respect the requirements: to keep accounting records in accordance with section 44(1)(a) of the 2005 Act and Regulation 4 of the 2006 Accounts Regulations, and to prepare accounts which accord with the accounting records and comply with Regulation 9 of the 2006 Accounts Regulations
have not been met, or
- 2 to which, in my opinion, attention should be drawn in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
