Integrative method of counselling which combines Person-centred and
Psychodynamic approaches with CBT (cognitive behaviour therapy), and
we offer to discuss spiritual issues from the perspective of Christianity for
those who speuficalty request

We conbnue to provide a blend of online and face to face counselling. Most students on placement
have now achieved thlyr counselling hours and work as trained counsellors within the servi
increasing our number to 14 this includes 3 students in training and we expect 4 applications this
year, students are all supported well by intemal rrentors.
We offer a tespoke service based on clienfs needs wth our huhty qual¢ty and effectNe inlegrativ8

the serv¢ce and fvnders. Clients contsnue to present with rrrf)re challenging ￿￿￿131 heamh issues oftan

over the accounting year. The fvndraising team was successful in securing £19,449 in grants125% of
income). We received £22,345128% of incoff*) in donations, including £18,000 received from Hope
Dundee which was forced lo wind up during the year, and fvndraising athvities generated £5.46217%
of income). BACP have wamed of the challenges ahead in relat￿n to grant applicatson success rates
for small mentsl heath charit￿S so other frjndraising actsvibes have been carned out. We are seeing
the irn￿t of the cost of living increase, emphasising the necessity to seek funding for provision of
our subsidised counselling servtt.
Focus on fvnding remains so we can cOn￿'nUe to counsel Vulnerab￿ people in hardship, whilst also
maintaining trailling. supervision, and remuneration of staff. Income from client fees was £31,128,
which 15 unreslncted funds and represents 40% of in￿rne. In 2025 we made 22 funding applications
and funds were recewed from S organisations.
We have an unrestricted reserves Fdicy of maintaining at least £8.000 and a minimum allowable
operating balance of £15,000. This is enough to cover 4 nKJnths with no incon￿. The approved
budget for 2025 ￿ £114,000 wlth 55% coming from grants. so fvnding applicats.ons are critical to the
organisab'on.

We support counsellors with paid extemal supervIs￿n and intemal and external speakers at CPD
sessions on re￿Vant and cuffent top￿. also support each other with tool sharing to develop our
¢ounselling work, ensuring cOmpl￿nce wrth BACP code of ethics, and encourages leambuilding. Wè
financially subskJise training for staff wrth patrular inler8sts benef￿'al lo Hope and our client's
needs.

Brief statement of the ¢h¥rlty's pollcy
on reservos
It is the Fdicy of the charity to maintsin unrestr￿ted reserves of at least
£8.000 and a minimum operating balance of £15,CNJO. The current general
fund bank balance of £49,615 provide5 the working capital foi the ongoing
activib'es. At current 2Ctivty levels this woukl finance around 7.5 months of
continued activity wrthout fvrther income. There is also a restncted fund
balance of £11,349 represents.ng funds receNed through awards in 2024
