The Winton Foundation for the Welfare of Bears works through fund and awareness raising to assist with new and established projects around the world to help bears. We are not tied to any one organisation but work in partnership with other groups, where applicable for the greater good of the bear and to allow us to be as effective as possible. We are part of the global network working to help end the abuse and exploitation of bears throughout the world and to provide care for them following rescue from such atrocities as bear farming, bear baiting, and dancing bears to name a few.
Objectives: 4 The organisation is established for charitable purposes only, and in particular, the object is to advance animal welfare. The organisation:- 4.1 Will undertake work to raise awareness, through educational and informative means, of the eight main species of bear and the threats and abuses they face 4.2 Will undertake work that will be instrumental in the fight to end the cruelty to, abuse of and exploitation of wild and captive bears 4.3 Will research bear related projects and campaigns throughout the world to ensure they are suitable recipients or candidates for funds from the association 4.4 Will assist with and contribute to projects worldwide undertaking work with similar aims and objectives
