**What the charity does:** Caldwell Hallls Trust was set up to enable community ownership and management of Caldwell Halls, a village hall in Torrance. The Trust has free open membership to all residents of Torrance and the wider community council area. The Halls provides a base for local community groups to meet to provide regular activities and services of benefit to all ages and interests in the community. The Trust hosts social events throughout the year that are important fundraisers and social gatherings to bring people together. The Trust offers an affordable venue of benefit to people and groups on limited incomes. The Trust maintain and improve the fabric of the Hall and its facilities to provide responsible stewardship for the building which dates from the early 1800s and to provide quality facilities for the community.

**Objectives:** The organisation’s purposes are: To preserve the Caldwell Halls, Torrance and the site thereof as an asset for the benefit of the Torrance community. To provide a local community hall, meeting rooms and other associated facilities for social, educational or other public purposes in connection with the village of Torrance and district without any distinction of sex, sexuality, political, religious or other opinions. To promote equality and diversity within the Caldwell Halls whilst being used for social, educational or other public purposes in connection with the village of Torrance and district. The advancement of citizenship, community development as well as health and wellbeing within the village through activities and services provided from the Hall.
