SIKH AID SCOTLAND Trustses, Report For Period 1 April 2024 - 31 March 2025 The trustees present their report wlth the tlnanclal statements of the charity for the Year Ended 31 March 2025. Prlnclpal Activlty The prlnclpal activity of the charity is to improve the lives of the individual and communities in India, with a focus on both the Sikh community and the wider p)pulats'on. Through advancing health, addressing critical sorial needs and providing education and vocatlonal tralning, we aim to combat child labour and powerty while promoting long-term, sustainable developmenL A key focus is supporting the causes of the Sikigar Vanjara Project, which aims to relieve poverty and sickness in underdeveloped regions (referred to as the 'area of benefit,). The charity works to improve the quality of life for individuals and communities in need through initiatives that enhance health, access to food and clean water, living conditions, education and employment opportunities. Revlew of Bu8ine88 The main actNity of the charity during the year was making grants, donations and gffts to other organisations. In additions, the charty also directly carried out its own activities and services to support its charitable objectives. Statement of Responsibiliti￿ of Membors The committee members are responsible for the preparation of the accounts for each financial year, which gives a true and fair review of the state of affairs at the end of the year and of its results for that period. In preparing those accounts the members are required to; Select suitable accounting policies and then apply them consistently. Make judgements and estimates that are reasonable and prudent State whether applicable accounting standards have been followed Prepare the accounts on the going concern basis unless it is inappropriate to assume that the scheff will continue The commrttee members are responsible for keeping proper accounting records which disclose with reasonable accuracy at any time the financial position of the project and which will enable them to compty with accounting procedures of The Law Reform (Miscellaneous Provisions) (Scotland) Act 1990 and The Charities Accounts {Scotland} regulations 1992. As a Scottish charity they musl also comply with the applicable terms and provisions of the Charities & Trustee Investment (Scotland) Regulations 2006. They are responsible for safeguarding the assets of the organisation and hence for taking reasonable steps for the prevention and detection of fraud or other irregu12rities. Independent Examiner's Report Notes on Sikh Aid Scotland 1 April 2024- 31 March 2025 Staternent of Res onsibilities of Trustees & Ind endgnt Examln The charity's trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the temis of the Charities and Trustee Investment (Scotland) 2005 Act and the Charities Accounts (Scotland) Regulations 2006. The charity trustees consider that the audit requirement of Regulation 10111 {d) of the Accounts Regulations does not apply. It is my responsibility to examine the accounts as required under section 44(1 } (c} of the Act and to stste whether particular matters have come to my attention. Basls of Inde endent examiner's statement My examination is carried out in accordance with Regulation 11 of the Charities Accounts (Scotland) Regulations 2006. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts and seeks explanations from the trustees con￿MIng any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit and. consequently, I do not express an audit opinion on the accounts.
