Recruitment and appointment of Trustees
All the Hall’s trustees are appointed or reappointed by the members at our annual general meeting which is held in January of each year.
Governing Document
The Hall is a charitable unincorporated association and the purposes and administration arrangements are set out in our Constitution.
Charitable Purposes
Our purposes, as recorded in our Constitution, are (a) to effectively manage the provision of a well used and valued community facility for the local community and (b) provide a programme of activities.
Activities and Achievements
The Hall has continued to be busy with many local groups using the facility for dog training classes, fitness classes, Nosh and Natter, Two’s Group, church meetings and children’s parties. The Committee held a Cocktail Afternoon fundraising event in aid of hall funds which will be used towards redecorating the ladies toilets.
The Committee reviewed the Terms and Conditions of hire of the Hall to ensure these complied with all legal requirements, gave clarity on where liability rests between the Hirer, and to take account of feedback from local residents.
The Annual Christmas Afternoon Tea for senior citizens of the community was held on 6th December 2025. The event was free and attendees enjoyed an afternoon tea and light entertainment. The Committee received a £500 grant from the Tesco Groundwork’s project to help with the cost of the event.
There is a Kingswells Public Hall Facebook page and we also interact with the local community Facebook page. The Committee continually promote the opportunity for members of the community to join.
Committee meetings in person at the hall every 6 weeks.
Trustee remuneration
The Trustees did not receive any remuneration during the year.
