**What the charity does:** Iqra Academy is set up to promote the physical, intellectual, social, moral and spiritual development of the Muslim community, with a particular focus on children and young people, and to encourage good relations and mutual understanding between the Muslim community and the wider public.  The charity achieves its purposes by operating a mosque and community centre in Edinburgh, providing daily and Friday prayers, religious education for children and adults, youth programmes, and regular Islamic learning sessions. These include classes, workshops, and monthly question-and-answer sessions aimed at supporting young people.  Iqra Academy also supports the wider community through social and welfare activities, including community meals during Ramadan, funeral and bereavement services, and the provision of meeting spaces for local groups and charities. **Objectives:** 3.1 To promote the physical, intellectual, social, moral and spiritual development of all members of the Muslim community and in particular of young people, through the provision of a broad range of educational, recreational and welfare opportunities. and 3.2 To promote good relations in the interest of racial harmony and mutual respect between the Muslim community and all other communities and thus enabling the Muslim community to participate in and contribute fully to all aspects of civic life.
