**What the charity does:** Coimhearsnachd Bharraidh agus Bhatarsaidh (CBaB) is a community owned company which supports sustainable community development on Barra and Vatersay, the two most southerly inhabited islands of the Outer Hebrides.

**Beneficiaries:** &#x27;No specific group, or for the benefit of the community&#x27;

**Objectives:** (i) To promote the benefit of the Community, without distinction on grounds of race, political, religious or other opinions, by associating with the local statutory authorities, voluntary organisations and inhabitants in a common effort to advance community development. and to promote, also for the public benefit, rural regeneration, including demographic balance and stability, following principles of sustainable development, where sustainable development means development which meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs, in areas of social and economic deprivation within the Community by all or any of the following means: (a) the relief of poverty in such ways as may be thought fit. (b) advancing citizenship and community development (c) the creation of employment for the public benefit, in particular but not exclusively by the provision of advice, training and support for the unemployed and through assistance to find employment. (d) the advancement of education, training or retraining, particularly amongst unemployed people, and providing unemployed people with work experience. (e) the creation of training and employment opportunities by the provision of workspace, buildings and/or land for use on favourable terms. (f) the provision of housing for those who are in conditions of need and the improvement of housing in the public sector or in charitable ownership provided that such power shall not extend to relieving any local authorities or other bodies of a statutory duty to provide or improve housing. (g) the maintenance, improvement of provision of public amenities. (h) the preservation of buildings or sites of historic or architectural importance. (i) the provision or assistance in the provision of recreational facilities for the interests of social welfare for the public at large and/or those who, by reasons of their youth, age, infirmity or disablement, poverty of social and economic c
