the charity. Appointment and removal are in accordance
with the Constitution, which requires that they be approved
at a formal Session meeting of the parent charity, Barrhead
Bourock Parish Church SC016467.|

**these objects**|The purpose of the charity is the advancement of religion by developing a
Christian partnership between the communities of Barrhead and Kibera; the
relief of those in need by reason of age, ill-health, disability, financial hardship
or other disadvantage by encouraging and promoting the advancement of
education and health programs within the Kibera community, and the
advancement of citizenship and community development within both
communities by offering members of both communities the opportunity to
expand their awareness and knowledge of different cultures.|
||During the last year we had 11 trustees, and 1 co-opted member on our
committee, along with Bourock’s minister. Our committee members come from
3 different Churches in the town.
The congregation at Silanga are still meeting in temporary accommodation,
whilst they try and sort out a new site for Silanga Church. On the PCEA
Emmanuel site, along with the Church building, there is a primary school, and
a further education training college called the PCEA Emmanuel Technical
College. Emmanuel Technical College is supervised by a Board, whose
members are selected from both members of the Church and of the local
community who are qualified in different fields. The Parish Minister is the
patron of the college. The college is supported from the fees charged to
students and also sponsorship from donors.
At the beginning of June 2025, we held a zoom meeting with members of
Kibera Parish Kirk Session. These Session members are also on the Board of
Emmanuel Technical Training College. Following a very informative
discussion, our committee decided to support students who could not afford to
attend this college and give them a chance to enrol in one of the courses
offered. PCEA Session members had identified over 50 young people who
have expressed an interest in attending Emmanuel College.
Following discussion at our committee meeting, we agreed to forward £3000
(Kes 519,600) to begin the sponsorship process. This has allowed 10
students to register for courses, which started in September.
The courses offered include Hairdressing, Fashion & Design, Plumbing,
Mechanics, Electrical installation, Catering, and Computing. We look forward
to hearing about the progress of these students in due course.
If this sponsorship program is successful, we will look to repeat it again in
2026.
At the end of November, we again ran our Christmas Greeting leaflet in
Bourock Church to raise funds for the project.|

donations of £292 and Bourock’s Christmas message
appeal which raised £770.|

||In 2025 the Bank of Scotland changed the type of account|
||we operate and charged £43 for its operation.|

||on the Data Protection register.|
