Charitable purposes
Our purposes. as recorded as our aim in our constitution, are lo help girls to become followers of the Lord
Jesus Christ, and through self-control. reveren¢e, and a sense of responsibty. lo find a true enrichment of life.
Activitles and achievements
Our Annual Returns at January 2023 totalled 329 which is 60 up on last year
Term of Office
Miss Rachel Dawson will be appointed tonight as Queen's Award CO￿OrdIna10r
Miss Emily Scott will be appointed tonight as Youth Rep.
Divisional Chaplain- we are delighted lo welcome Rev Andy Ellison who will be our Divisional Chaplain for
the next 2 years.
Division
Two of our companies merged al the start of this session- Aberdeen and 391h Aberdeen _ initially they
meet on a Friday al Hilton Community Centre and then from De¢ember 2022 they ¢hanged lo meet on a
Thursday night at High Hilton Church.
We started off our session taking part in the Celebrate Aberdeen Parade which took place on Saturday 27th
August 2022. We had around 60 leader5 and girls who sang and danced along Union Street with our mas￿1
Bee.
Our Training DaylDedication Service this year took place on Sunday 281h August 2022 at South Sl NiGholas
Church, Kincorth and was well attended by 35 leaders and il was good to see some new trainees in
attendance. Thanks go to the 23tO company for looking after us on the day and lo Bill Mitchell for leading us in
our dedication service.
Nelhy 2022 - 32 leaders and Brigaders spent the weekend al Nethybridge from 2nd_ 4lh September 2022.
Everyone was so glad we fin811y made il and they all had a great time. Huge thanks go lo all leaders who
helped with the activities but especially lo Lynne Smith for all her chasing and effort she pul in lo making sure
it happened after all the cancellations due to covid.
We also held a Divisional publicity stand al Asda Garthdee on Saturday 24th September 2022 be￿een 10.00
am- 4.QOpm. Thank you again to all the leaders who helped out on the day.
Our Divisional Display was held at the Beach Ballroom on Sunday 5th Ma￿h 2023. This was our first one
since 2020 and we had a great turnout of girls and officers there. We had 4 Divisional items, 1 item from the
3111 Aberdeen and 5 competition winner items. It was great to see all the girls at the end on the floor taking
part in the Makaton song. Our National President was also in attendance.
We We￿ due to have a stall al the Aberdeen Highland Games on Saturday 19th June 2022 but this had to be
cancelled due lo severe wind5 but we are hopefvl that this year's event will go ahead and we will have a stall
al it on Sunday 18th June 2023.
Since last session Aberdeen Division Girfs Brigade has been represented al the Boys Brigade Queen's and
Presidents Badge Presentation evening, Scout Gang Show. Guides Show and the Remembrance Service.

We have had 7 trainees who have completed their GBS Leadership Inducts'on Training and 3 trainees who
have completed their Gold award.

We also held CJ Bruce Competition for Juniors- this was an Individual competition where the girls were given
shoe box and materials and they had to make a bedroom- 16 girls entered from 8 companies. The 2
winning girts came from the 7th Aberdeen and the 24th Aberdeen.

On a positive note, we were delighted we were able to hold some divisional eompelilions this year and thanks
must go to Angela Ritchie who co-ordinated all the entries with the judges. The competitsons were set for the
week 7th March and companies had to video the girls on their company night and send in their videos.
Explorer Physical.. 5 teams

Junior physical: 5 Teams
151 place- Ph Aberdeen, 2nd place- 3td Aberdeen, 3rd place- 24th Aberdeen.
8rigader Physical: 6 teams
place- 1st Newtonhill, 2nd place- P Aberdeen. 3td place _ 21st Aberdeen & 1st Kinto￿.
Makaton.. 9 tearns
1s1 place- Juniors. 2nd place- 7th Juniors, 3rf place - 71h Brigaders.
We also held CJ Bruce Competition for Explorers- thls was an Individual compelib'on for any explorers who
wished to take part. They had to produce an A4 season therned collage either in their company or at home.
We had 53 entries, and the judges had a very difficult decision in finding winners. In the end they settled on 3
winners.
We also had a Christmas Photography Competition- 1 for Juniors and 1 for Brigaders. There were 7 entries
for each of these sections and the judge was highly impressed with the effort that went into creating the
photos.
The Junior placings were Juniors.. 1*_ 7th Abe¥deen, 2rtd_ 31s1 Aberdeen, 3￿_ yd Aberdeen arsd the Brigader
placings were 18t_ 7lh Aberdeen. Brigader 2nd_ 3rd Aberdeen, Brigader 31d _ 1S1 Newtonhill.
Well done to all companies who took part given these challenging times.

I report on the accounts of the charity for the year ended 31 st March 2023 which are set out on pages 7 and
RgSPg¢tive responslbllities of trustees and gxaminer
The charities trustee5 are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the terms of the
Charities and Tfustee Investment (Scotlandl Act 2005 and the Charities Accounts (Scotlandl Regulations
2006. The charity trustees consider that the audit requirement of Regulation 10111 Id) of the Accounts
Regulations does not apply. It is my responsibility to examine the accounts as required under Section 4411}
Icl of the Act and lo stale whether particular mallers have come to my attention.
Basis of indap¢ndent examlner's statemont
My examination is Carried out in accordance with Regulation 11 of the Charities Accounts {Scotlandl
Regulations 2006. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and
comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items
or disclosures in the aceounts and seeks explanations from the trustees conoeming any such matters. The
procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit and Consequently I
do not expiess an audit opinion on the view given by the accounts.
