facilities, and by reducing the social exclusion of such people through improved
communicatlon networks
To promote andlor provide training, particularly in such skills as would assist the
participants in gaining amploymenl within the fi8ld of information and
ommunications technology
To reliev8 unemployment in such ways as may be thought fit, including assistance
to find employment.

that there are still major Inequalities in Ihese areas.
Research has, over s8v8ral years, conclusively proven that digital literacy and
8ocial skills can improve quality of life in tems of employabilty, self confiden6, the
abilty and motivation to make better health choices.
We are committed to improving digital Inclusion and social inclusion for people
aged 8yrs old to 100 yrs old.

Our ever growing team of volunteers is diverse in terms of age, skills, experience and
interests. They are integral lo the success of our services delivery.

Our 13 to 25 yr old volunteers are encouraged to sign up to the national Saltire
Volunleers Award scheme via SCVO. The hours recorded can also count towards the
Duke of Edinburgh and Caritas awards.

developing soft skills in preparation for life after school. The programme is open to our

to their individual needs and interests. This service has been ongoing with some of our

Following on from last year's very successful pilot, we worked in partnership with DCS and
with our local primary and secondary schools to deliver an extravaganza of experiences
reflecting the history of Dumbarton Castle, the river and the town. The pupils proudly
showcased their class work project, centred around their chosen theme. Over 3(X) children
took part over Ihe two days.

Our lead gaming volunteers play a key role in the success of this club. Originally we ran
from 10.00 am until 12.00 pm. However, in order to meet very high demand we created
Second session. We continue to run from 9.30 am to 11.30 am and 11.30 am to 13.30
prn. We encourage social interaction in the gaming suite and we also build in snack time
in the café area, with the two groups overlapping.

shaping the format of the club. Consultatlon with our gaming youngsters, many of whom
are neuro diverse, plays a major part in the development and inclusive ethos of the club.

We introduced this seNice on the first day of lockdown in March 2020. Volunteers support
us.

One of our clients just recently secured a part time job with support from our team. This is
an informal club rather than a class and we offer support to all ages in response to
individual needs and interests. e.g. creating a CV, job searches, writing a job application,
online shopping, making and printing address labels, writing formal letters. The club also
serves as a warm hub and a place to gather for a cuppa and a chat.

Club
The club continues to meet twice a month using a hybrid format - face to face in the
Concord and online via Zoom, enabling people who needlprefer to be at home or
elsewhere to take part online. We offer Zoom training, if required. Several field trips took
place in local areas throughout the autumn and winter months- the highlight this year was
the spectacular Aurora on the Loch shore at Duck Bay. This Aurora was widely recognised
as the most spectacular for many years and brought visitors to the Loch from all over the
country.

We published our 2025 calendar, showcasing the enormous talent of several members of
the Astronomy club, some of whom are not formally educated either academically or in the
art of photography. These people are self taught and the resultant photos can be breath
taking. It is important that we acknowledge this talent and the willingness to share their
talent for the enjoyment of the wider Community.

We continue our partnership with "Threads" a local small business, working together to
knit hats for homeless people, rough sleepers, Food Banks, Early Learning Centres

over 400 hats throughout the autumn of 2024 and the winter of 2025.

We celebrated the winners in the stunning foyer of the Denny Civic Theatre in Dumbarton.
In response to the quality and number of entrants we created three winning categories.
The Provost and local councillors who attended as guests highly commended the event.
Chrlsknas Famll Part 2024
This was our first family party and, of course, Santa dropped by. Entertainment was
provided by our house band, "The Third Rock" along with a young, new band comprising
one of our gaming volunteers. A variety of local amateur musicians also contributed.

Our plans from last year came to fruition. In partnership with WD Educatlon Department
we delivèred a very successful six week programme bringing together young people
who have been disengaged from school for several years. The main purpos8 was to

Regeneration of Dumbarton High Street had received almost £20 milllon Levelllng Up
funding and WDC had invited local opinion regarding planning. A small group of our
youth volunteers earriad out international research to determine how the Artizan
Cenlre might include modem, futuristic ideas which were at tha same timo practical and
sustainable.e.g. kinetic pads under walkways, entrances into Shops, play areas for
children; free public solar powered device chargers.
These young people presented their proposals in person to Councillor Davld McBride who
has responsibility for R8generation and Magda Swider Regeneralion Coordinator for
WDC. Som8 of thes8 young people found even the idea of ubliG speakin
challenging
and they absolutely rose to the occaslon. Both Councillor

Responsibilities of the Committee of Management
The responsibilities of the Committee of Management detailed below should be read in
conjunction with the independent examiner's report as a means of distinguishing their
respective responsibilities in relation to the financial statements.
Preparatlon of Flnanclal Statements
The Committee of Management are required to prepare financial statements for each
financial year which give a true and fair view of the state of affairs of the Trust and of its
Receipts and Payments for that period.
Accountlng Pollclos
In preparing the financial statements set out on pages 10 to 12 the Committee of
Management have used appropriate accounting policies, consistently applied and supported
by reasonable and prudent judgements and estimates, and all accounting standards which
they consider to be applicable hav8 been followed.
Accountlng Records
The Committee of Management have responsibility for ensuring that the Trust keeps
accounting records which disclose with reasonable accuracy the financial position of the
Trust and which enable them to ensure that the financial statements comply with appropriaté
legislation.
General Ro8pon8ibllity
The Committee of Management have a general responsibility for taking such steps as are
reasonably open to them to Safeguard the assets of the Trust and to detect irregularities.

For Year Ended 31 March 2025
I report on the accounts of the charity for the period ended 31 March 2025 which are set
out on pages 10 to 12.
Respective responsibilities of trustgos and examlner
The charity's trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance
with the tems of the Charities and Trustee Investment (Scotland) Act 2005 and the
Charities Accounts (SGOtland) Regulations 2006. The charity trustees consider that the
audit requirement of Regulation 10(1) (a) to (c) of the Accounts Regulations does not
apply. It Is my responsibility to examlne the accounts as r8qulred under sectlon 44(1) (c)
of the Act and to stat8 wh8ther particular matters have come to my attention.
Basis of independent examlner's 8tatement
My examination is carried out in accordance with Regulation 11 of the Charities Accounts
(Scotland) Regulations 2006. An examination includes a review of the accounting records
kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts pr8sented wlth those records. It also
includes conslderatlon of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts and seeks
explanations from the trustees concerning any such matters. The prixedures undertaken
do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audi( and consequ8ntty I do
not express an audit opinion on the view given by the accounts,

Accounting Policies
The folloviing accounting policies have been applied consistently in dealing with items which
are consider8d material in relation lo the Trust's financial statements.
Basls of Preparatlon
The financial statements are prepared under the historical cost convention. They have been
prepared in accordance with the Charities Statement of Recornm8nded Practice (SORP
2005), the Charities Accounts (Scotland) Regulations 2006, and Applicable Accounting
Standards.
Recolpts
Cash is recep4ed by way of grants and these are included in full in the Receipts and Payments
as soon as they are received.
