Objectives and activities

Charitable purposes
1. The advancement of education - cooperating closely wth Polish
educats'onal establishments, running a communty library and organizing
InfO￿nal language classes.
2. The advancement of cilizenship and community development -
acttvely promoting volunteering in the community, creating voluntary
opportunilies and providing infomation about exists'ng voluntary
opportunilies in Aberdeen.
3. The advancement of the culture - promoting both Polish and
Scottish culture, organizing cultural events, presentations and movie
screenings. In longer term providing a venue to various artistic
groups. organizing workshops etc. Taking part in various culturavart
events throughout Aberdeenshire.
4. The promotion of equality and diversty.
5. The advancement of public participation in sport - organization
arKI promotion of sightseeing events around Scotland. as well as
organization of sport activities within Polish communty and
participation in events to integrate with local Scottish and other
communities.
Summary of the main activities
in relation to these objects
We continue our communty and arts centre and library and other
important services to our community from 16 Rubislaw Te￿a￿ offices
(part of'outer Spaces, ne￿ork. Our Community and Arts centre
services in 2024-25 included following services..
- Great Orchestra of Christmas Charty- fundraising for WOSPIGOCC
foundation in Poland, community family events, concerts with other
Polish community organisations and Aberdeen musiciansl artistsl local
businesses (last weekend of January).
Psychological help and counselling seNices - wrth Polish speaking
psychologists, psychology students and counsellors, members of
professional organisations including British Psychological Society.
COSCA, and other professional organisations; during 2024 we
conducted a mental health campaign 'lt is important to speak about how
you feel, about the importance of speaking about the mental health and
artists and local community members recorded their videos supporting it.
sadly this service ceased on 16th April 2025 and we no longer offer this
service;
Free Infomiation Point
Our main aclivty is the information point oper￿d 2 or 3 times a week
(depending on our volunteers, availability), where anyone can speak to
our volunteers. find out about social and educational activities run by PAA
and take part in them. We have a close working relationship with lots of
institutions that are inlerested in health and wellbeing of the Polish
communty. We conlinue to provKle the free information point, we provide
free advice for Polish communty members and we work with other third
sector organisations that provide specialist services including leading

Polish Library
Wilh over 3,400 books, we help Polish people, especialty kids to keep
their language alive. Our library is essential part of Polish community for
tts cultural and educational values. We continue our project'Direction
Liierature, reflecting the needs of the Polish community of Aberdeen"
cultural animation around reading; integration of the loyal Polish
communty
- Polish language classes for non-Polish speakers- beginners group for
students who want leam Polish:
English classes - cuThently we operate groups at elementary and
pre-intermediate levels:
Polish Seniors Club - services for the large group Polish seniors in
Aberdeen. V￿th various activities. arts and crafts with professional activities
coordinator.
'Family Club with Fancy Sensy. started which are ￿ groups supporting
families, integrating parents with children 0-3 years and also grandparents
and seniors are welcome as they very often feel isolated in post Covid era.
We integrate families and for kids to gather some knowledge, skills, social
and moral values as well as to experience emotions and feelings.
We organised several cultural events including the 8th edition of the
'Polish-Scottish Mini Festival, early 2025. These events included exhibition
for Aberdeen Holocaust Memorial Day 'Cty of the Living, City of the Dead,
at Aberdeen Central Library and exhibition talk with
{WTiterl Holocaust survivor), 'Polish-Scottish Ceilidh, at Pittodrie Stadium
and concerts of'strachy Na Lachy., 'Wlasny Port and Harbour Voices,,
'Kapela PoPieronie', 'Workshop of Beskidian singing with￿,
and 'Weekend of Polish Cinema with IFF Tofifest. with a special guest the
film director￿. Also concerts of Halat Duo in spring
2024.
Financial review
Brief statement of the charity's policy
on reserves
PAA aims to hold unrestricted fvnds of at least £5,000 to cover
renvutilities for a period of 12 months and other annual expenses such
as web design, charity insurance and to cover any shortfall from
PolishlEnglish dasses and day-to4lay pety cash expenses.

Details of any deficit
Unrestricted fvnds had a £4546 surplus at the end of financial year,
restricted funds had a surplus of a £11,502.

The charity's trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance
with the terms of the Charities and Trustee Investment (Scotland) 2005 Act and the
Charities Accounts {Scotland} Regulations 2006. The charity trustees consider that the
audit requirement of Regulation 1011 } (d) of the Accounts Regulations does not apply. It
is my responsibility to examine the accounts as required under section 44(1) (c) of the
Act and to state whether particular matters have come to my attention.
My examination is carried out in accordance with Regulation 11 of the Charities
Accounts (Scotland) Regulations 2006. An examination includes a review of the
accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with
those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the
accounts and seeks explanations from the trustees concerning any such matters. The
procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit
and, consequently, I do not express an audit opinion on the accounts.
