REPORT OF THE TRUSTEES
The Trustees present their report and annual accounts for the year ended 31 March 2024
OBJEcfivES:
Trust Rugby International (TRII was formed in March 2010 with the purposes of "the advancement of
public participation in sport" and 'the promotion of equality and diversity"
TRI later became a charitable or8anisation in 2013, with the objective of -Brin8in8 individuals,
communities and cultures together through Rugby- Latterly TRI became a SCIO in 2017.
The vision of achieving social inclusion for everyone spans from building social tonfidence for those with
little experience of navigatin8 life to supporting rehabilitation of those wishing to re-enter their
communtty.
TRI have pioneered 'unified' rugby in Scotland a5 a means to build confidence and social skills. Gathering
individuals from different backgrounds and communities. with and without intellectual disabilities. as well
as varying degrees of expeiience, TRI want to enable eveiyone to live life to the ftjllest.
The organisations mission is"Creating projerts that target personal development and social integration by
developing stiategic partnerships"
The foregoing charitable purposes being principally furthered through111 the cieation of "unified
rugby teams" within established iugby clubs121 the development of suitable training and
safeguarding guidelines to enable training 5ession5 and build confidence in coaches and players131
forming key partnerships with health and social organisations to en3ble a pathway for players. TRI are
now an affiliated club to the Scottish Rugby Union ISRUI141 the provision of assistance (whether
tinancial or otherwisel to other charities and organisations that have similar purposes and objectives
toTRI.
The Trustees declare that in exercisirbg these purposes they shall have proper regard to the spirit of the
original constitution and intend the exercise of131 and141 above to empower the Trusteesto further the
purposes in a circumstance where the purposes of the charity will be furthered.
MANAGEMENT:
The charity is man38ed by the Trustees listed above.
Accounts for the year show a surplus of £38,423. The Trustees are of the opinion that the restructurirbg
of 22123 creating sm311er charities within clubs has been a w>sitive step ensuring the continuation of
unitied rugby within the original rugby clubs.
