**What the charity does:** The Parent Council was set up, and continues to act, as a link between the Senior Management Team of the School and a group of parents representing those whose children attend Newmains Primary and live in the local community.   Over the years many activities have been organised by the Parent Council obtaining funding from external grants, companies and of course support with fundraising from the parents, children, staff and local community.   As a result of these fundraising activities over many years, the Parent Council have been able to assist in funding various aspects of the school including: •	the upgrade of outdoor equipment for the children,  •	providing indoors play equipment,  •	expanding educational resources,  •	developing outdoor learning areas,  •	assisting with maintenance of the school providing enhanced aesthetics for the children and staff,  •	providing Primary 1 pupils with house badges,  •	subsidising primary 7 pupils with leavers hoodies and prom night and ties
