## **Kintyre Environmental Group** 

## **Structure Governance and Management** 

The charity is a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation (SCIO). It was registered in its current legal form in 2013. The charity was previously an unincorporated association but changed its legal form to a SCIO in 2013. The assets of the unincorporated organisation were transferred to the SCIO in 2015. It has a single tier structure and as such, the Trustees are members of the charity. 

## **Objectives and Activities** 

## **Charitable purpose: -** 

The purpose of the group is to promote an awareness of environmental issues and an appreciation of the natural environment in both children and adults. To seek opportunities to contribute to the sustainable development of the local area and economy. To promote green and sustainable lifestyles and to campaign on environmental issues. 

## **Activities 2024-2025** 

2024-2025 has been a year of working with South Kintyre Development Trust (SKDT), who have now secured additional staff to enable the Trust Manager to focus on completing Grant Applications to reinstate a local Community Garden. 

The outcome of this application was successful and a Community Garden Co-ordinator has been appointed. 

All the remaining Trustees are in favour of this action and intend to continue their involvement by assisting SKDT to reconstruct the existing infrastructures and develop the new site. We have been teaming up with other groups interested in improving our town Landscape and have the support of more people who have expressed an interested in setting up a new Community Growing Scheme. 

SKDT have staff and run payroles etc. and have the expertise to plan, develop and deliver a community defined and lead new Community Growing Project. Further funding is being sought to continue beyond initial funding period. 

## **Future Plans** 

KEG with OSCR's approval will nominate SKDT to receive all KEG Assets including the Balance remaining in the KEG Bank Account. 

## **Financial Review** 

Zero activity and bank balance remains the same as last year which is £2,725.03 see balance sheet attached.
