Achievements and performance
Summary of the main achievements of The shadow of Cowd cover@d all our activities during ttiis year, causing lengthy

delays to implement81ion of all projècts in Zambia, Malawi and Tanzania. 11 a150
I took a personal toll as 2 persons affected by leprosy (PALI al Chlkwawa in the
soutt] of Malawi died of Covid.
In response to the pandemic. we launched a $pea41 Covi¢J appeal and faised just
over £2,(W, which was spent on prcwring masks, soap and gloves whith were
8ent to every (x)mmunity we Support. Wa 8lso kept an emergency fund of £1,000
for any urgentfood neéds, but thankftjlly thts h8s yel to be called on. We also
| asked all l¢Jcal Project Managers lo edu¢alo their PALS about soaal distancing,
mask~wearing and hand-sanittsing.
The Scottish Governrnent were under5tsnding ofthe inevitable delays in starting
the woiects they financed and by the end of the year ne8rfy all oflhèm wèrè 9
months behind schedule. This was unavoidable and wll have a noliceable impact
on the proffits gènèrated by the end ofthe grant in April 2022. Projects fvnded by
LUV+ In Tanzania were also dèlayed but less so, because ofthe govemmerfs
refusal to pul in any anti-covid mBasur¢s.
LUV+ succeeded in an application to the Stafford TN91 and w8$ awarded £5,tK)O
for new projects in Tanzania. This was a morale booster ftsr thè tharty, and
especiaIty forthe 2 SOCTal media volunteers who joined OUF team in late 2019. They
have helped witli posting irrformalion on Facebook, Instagram arwj LInk￿lIn and
have since assisted in promoting our runner in the London Marathon in October
2021.
LUV+ is in a healthy financial state at the end of this year but the inability lo
organige in-p&rson fundyasing will cause us problems going forward.
