**What the charity does:** Medics Against Violence (MAV) exists to prevent violence and support wellbeing across Scotland. We bring together health professionals, youth workers, and community partners to reduce harm, empower young people, and promote digital and personal safety. Through education, advocacy, and trauma-informed practice, we equip individuals and organisations to recognise risk, respond with care, and build safer futures. Our work spans schools, healthcare settings, and community spaces, ensuring that prevention and support are accessible, practical, and rooted in compassion.

**Beneficiaries:** &#x27;Children or young people&#x27;,&#x27;People with disabilities or health problems&#x27;,&#x27;No specific group, or for the benefit of the community&#x27;

**Objectives:** (i) To educate young people in matters of violence and the consequences of violence and to develop in them a sense of responsibility in regard to personal conduct and behavior with the aim of preventing and mitigating the suffering caused by premeditated or gratuitous violence. (ii) To preserve and protect the good health both mental and physical of parents, young people and children and to prevent financial hardship, caused by violence by:  i. promoting education on the consequences and thereby prevention of violent conduct by and against vulnerable individuals and,  ii. through the continued development of the individual&#x27;s capabilities, competencies, skills, understanding and,  iii.) by developing their mental, physical and moral capabilities through developing awareness and understanding of the consequences of violence all with the public benefit aim of the reduction of violence and violent assaults. (iii) To educate the public regarding violence and the social, physical and psychological consequences of violence, and health with particular reference to personal responsibility in relationships and behavior and to the consequences of actual and threatened violence. (iv) To give medical advice and assistance in identifying the root causes in cases of personal injury, assault and battery or of difficulties connected with relationships or behavioral problems for which such advice, referral or recommendation to other bodies or services is appropriate. (v) To relieve the poverty and improve the aspirations of young people by the provision of grants to enable them to participate in workshops or recreational activities that they could not otherwise afford and that may influence attitudes to violence, particularly in relation to knife carrying, knife crime and gang membership. (vi) To promote, for the benefit of the public, the efficiency of the police in Strathclyde and Scotland and to promote good citizenship and greater participation in the prevention and solut
