The Scottish Professional Football League Trust (SPFL Trust) is a charity, registered in Scotland (SC041121). The SPFL Trust work with community trusts and associated SPFL and SWPL clubs across the country, helping them to deliver change that improves people’s lives. The SPFL Trust is governed by a board of trustees drawn from the world of civic society, commerce, finance, media and academia. Staff are led by chief executive Nicky Reid, with executive and delivery teams working to deliver strategy. The SPFL Trust vision is that the unique power of football improves people’s lives across Scotland. Using football, the Mission is to support local communities to be places where people thrive.
Objectives: The Company shall operate for the advancement for the public benefit of the following charitable purposes or objects : 3.1 the advancement of public participation in sport and, in particular, the promotion of participation by members of the public in healthy sporting activities , including, but not limited to, football. 3.2 the advancement of citizenship or community development and, in particular the provision of support for community-based facilities and activities undertaken by football clubs. 3.3 the provision of recreational facilities, or the organisation of recreational activities, with the object of improving the conditions of life for the persons for whom the facilities or activities are primarily intended. and 3.4 the advancement of any of the above purposes or objects by the giving of grants or the provision of funding to persons undertaking projects, initiatives and/or activities which further any of the above objects and are wholly charitable within the meaning of the Taxes Acts and also section 7 of the Charities and Trustee Investment (Scotland) Act 2005 or any statutory amendment or re-enactment thereof..
