Recruitment and appointment of Trustees
All of Orkney Clay Pigeon Clubs (OCPC) trustees are appointed or reappointed by the members at our annual general meeting, which takes place no more than three months after the end of the financial year on 31[st] December.
Governing document
OCPC is a charitable unincorporated association and the purposes and administration arrangements are set out in our constitution.
Charitable purposes
The object of the Club shall be the pursuit and advancement of clay pigeon shooting in Orkney with a view to providing a recreational activity for residents and visitors.
Activities and achievements
We encouraged all groups of people to come and try clay pigeon shooting for the first time or former attendees to come back for events. We now have disabled members attending the club shoots regularly.
We have had organised events for various football clubs, local Fire Brigade, Young Farmers groups, business corporate days and stag parties in order to cater for and reach as wide an audiences as possible. We once again introduced activity relating to corporate shoots during 2025 season.
The 2024 season has not been limited to existing members in an effort to increase activities after the Coronavirus pandemic.
OCPC members now receiving the benefit of the hard work on the new shooting ground with the main works completed by the end of December 2014 and further finishing works completed for the Highlands & Islands Team Cup event held in May 2015. Funding for this project has been secured by the aid of grant assistance from Orkney Islands Council (£65,000) and Sportscotland (£35,000) along with the clubs own cash contribution (£12,000) and members time as the main contractor.
Trustee remuneration and expenses
The trustees did not receive any remuneration or expenses during the year.
Reserves
The deficit of £5,500 will be carried over into the club facilities and activities during the next financial year.
OCPC has incurred approximately £165,000 in expenses in order to create the new shooting range and clubhouse up to 31-12-2025.
